i'm self taught...started in 2000...i have enjoyed watching and listening to great bassists like john paul jones, tommy shannon, roscoe beck, sting, victor wooten, marcus miller, ron carter and chris wolstenholme to name a few...however, there are several world class bassists like adam nitti, bill lawrence, todd johnson & norm stockton that are an inspiration to me as a bassist and as a follwer of christ...i dig electric blues like srv & jimmy d. lane...alternative/experimental/rock like muse & 30 seconds to mars...pop rock like tree63 & jonezetta...kate white's blend of folk/bluegrass/celtic...country's alan jackson...soul/funk/70's like isaac hayes (ya' know disco bassists were solid!)...techno...reggae...christafari rules...the police...latin jazz bossa & samba...i like to listen to straight ahead jazz and ballad sax players like dexter gordon...hammond B-3 like jimmy smith...sade & dido...80's stuff...and worship music from vineyard & hillsong...the nylon string classical guitar sound is amazing...i spent so many years listening to rap because of the relationship between bass & drums and perfect time...3-piece bands are always cool especially when they end up adding an organ as the 4th
in 1995, i accepted JESUS invitation to FOLLOW HIM and WALK AWAY FROM A LIFE OF DESPAIR....since then, he has given me PEACE, PURPOSE, HEALING and JOY...do you HEAR HIS CALL on your life? he says, "come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (matthew 11:28) "i have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness" (john 12:46) my ministry today is primarily to support christian artists & worship leaders that seek an experienced, eclectic bassist...if you want to know why I'm so focused on worship please read my blogs...JESUS LOVES YOU and HE IS POWERFUL to help you if you will BE HONEST and ASK HIM...thanks for visiting me! jesus said, "my sheep listen to my voice; i know them, and they follow me...i give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand...my father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my father's hand...i and the father are one." again they picked up stones to stone him, but jesus said to them, "i have shown you many great miracles from the father, for which of these do you stone me?" "we are not stoning you for any of these, but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be GOD." (john 10:27-33).
