BRINGING ART BACK TO FASHION. WORTHY CHICAGO IS A GRAPHIC APPAREL COMPANY ROOTED IN ART, FASHION, MUSIC AND NIGHT LIFE, WITH A TOUCH OF LUXURY. WORTHY was born on June 12, 2007 out of a desire to bring art to the masses. Originally a joint-project between the art and design team of Peter Olsen and Kyle Sylvester, Peter eventually parted ways from Kyle and brought you the WORTHY that you see today. “We originally worked with themes of rock ‘n’ roll music, tattoos and pretty girls, but soon found that the only way we stood out was because we were local designers.” says Pete Olsen. “After the split, I realized that what I had in front of me was a way to fully express my own artistic tendencies without having to worry about any conflicting voices. I started to form the images around this concept of une vie d'excès, or a life of excess – something which has shaped my life in everything I’ve ever done.” Trading in the expected rock ‘n’ roll imagery championed by other designers: tattoos, guitars and mud flap strippers for abstracted figures, neon nights, technicolor realities, techno music and luxury, Pete Olsen has built WORTHY into a clothing company and an art company, a true extension of the art he’s been making his entire life.
