La Grande Illusion
Wound Issue 7 - La Grande Illusion, the Summer 2009 issue, will hit the stands this week. As you all may have heard, there is a range of new and interesting developments at Wound; naturally we’ll keep you posted…
But, for those in Europe, you’ll have the first opportunity this week to see what you think of the reinvented magazine. I’m afraid those further afield may have to wait a bit longer. We’re confident that you will like what we’ve done.
As usual, we’re offering you a choice of covers; four in fact. So choose the one that best suits you as you grab for essential holiday reading. As always, we’re sure there’s enough interesting content to keep you going on a long flight or during lazy hours around a pool.
Fashion: As usual, Wound offers a range stunning original fashion stories such as the amazing underwater shoot ‘Mermaids’ photographed by René & Radka; Rémi Lamandé’s sumptuously skin-toned shoot for the story, ‘Flesh’ and seasonal previews shot by Tyen, to name but a few. Other features include: Viktor & Rolf take to the stage, Bally goes nude, In the Eye of Tyen, Marios Schwab, Elsa and Antonio Marras.
Close- Up: The wonderful Peaches is the person at the centre of Close-Up, a special new section of over thirty pages at the heart of Wound that takes one unique individual as its starting point. In addition to the Empress of Electro herself, the section features articles on Charlie Le Mindu, The Lloyd Hotel, The Rebirth of the Falsetto, The Broken Hearts Club and two fashion stories inspired by Peaches’ unique style, amongst other articles.
Art – Extensive interiew/article on Wim Delvoye. Feature articles on Joana Vasconcelos, Amy Bessone, Jasmina Fekovic, Jeanine Woollard and Michael Samuels. And articles on Venice and new platforms for art; Raven Row & The Whitechapel Gallery.
