The CCPA is dedicated to providing a safe and friendly meeting place for the community, a place for appreciation of the arts for all ages and income levels, and a training ground for new generations.
Local, regional, national and international acts frequently grace the stage, and the Hall prides itself on diversity.
Shows range from concerts of folk, rock, reggae, jazz, blues, pop, punk, metal, indie, experimental, electronic, hip-hop and world beat music to dance, theater, film and circus performances. Many artists have released works recorded at the W.O.W. Hall.
The Hall is also used for classes, workshops, lectures, meetings, rehearsals and recording sessions. The Lobby Art Gallery features the work of a different regional artist each month. Alcohol is confined to the downstairs, which features a sound and video relay from the Main Hall.

If you ever are in Salem and bored on a Friday night. Get a free walk by show and watch ENERGY SOUND PROJECT jam, practice and make sweet psychedelic sounds in down town Salem every Friday night @ 8pm. We are currently trying out bass players also so if you want you can, bring your gear and jam along. Whitlock's Vacuum 455 court st. NE Salem OR near the corner of Liberty and Court just around the corner from Moonbakers. Feel free to stand or sit outside and watch as long as you want, sorry no chairs in side available but you can bring a chair and sit outside and watch and listen.
Friday night was pretty sweet even know it was just a guitar drum duo (our bassist couldn't make it). People seemed to really like it, around 9 or 10pm we had like 15-20 people standing out side the doors watching us they were head banging, clapping, taking pics with phones and stuff like that. Then this couple were talking then they walked out of view and came back a min later with a huge pro size camera and took a picture, all I saw was the huge flash cuz I play with my drums turned into the store you know, so I could see some people in the corner of my eye but couldn't really see them so Chris told me what was going on during the break, i was like WTF was that flash? And we had some F'n tweaker just walk in the door and say hey guys can I play? Wow right on dudes, bla, bla, bla. He said "hey baby" too Chris's girl friend who was lying on the floor. Then he was like, hey nice ax dude. We were both like um yeah thanx but you need to leave, lol. That guy was strung out like a freakin research monkey. As far as I know we will be at the same place and at the same time (7 or 7:30ish every Friday). We got some more material out of the night, at least 2 new songs. We jam right in down town Salem, my guitarist works at this vacuum sales place and his boss is really cool and lets us jam there after hours, so we set up right in front of the glass doors and just jam, people walk by all night and get kinda like a free show and we get to practice our stuff and practice playin for a audience plus we get to see peoples reaction to our new stuff with out it really mattering cuz it's free and they are just walking by they only have to stay and watch if they want to. Any way sorry for the long story but I thought you might get a kick out of it. Thanks for reading, peace.
