Sounds Like
Extreme chaotic death metal layered with classical orchestration. Vocals combine deep screaming and operatic characteristics. Agiel can easily fit into several genres such as: Norwegian Black Metal, Symphonic Art Metal, Experimental Occult Metal, and overtones of Electronic Noise.
The name AGIEL comes from the Enochian language and represents the intelligence of Saturn. That origin in occult mythos is not lost on the sound and style of AGIEL's music. At times haunting, but always brutal in nature, AGIEL blends sounds from across many genre of metal including: Black, Death, Tech and Symphonic Metal.
AGIEL's current lineup includes James Taylor (vocals/synth), Mike Dillio (guitar) and Rich Buzzel (bass). AGIEL has had the pleasure of working with many talented musicians. For their debut album DARK PANTHEONS AGAIN WILL REIGN (Unique Leader 2002), AGIEL employed the incredibly talented Tim Yeung as the drummer in support of that album and the subsequent summer tour.
AGIEL toured to support the release of DARK PANTHEONS, having the honor of sharing the stage with the legendary Cephalic Carnage and December. The band describe the tour as an incredible experience and a once in a lifetime opportunity, meeting thousands of rabid metal fans and growing more cohesive as a live act.
The band currently exists as a loose collaboration between its permanent members: James, Mike and Rich. They are currently working on an AGIEL project that will be released in 2009.
