- filled with field recordings and a piano chord housey refrain,
languid is evocative of drunken sloth. electro 808s eventually enter

Piltdown Sound - mixmux
The United States-baesd Piltdown Sound collective unearths an assemblage of synthetic and organic textures for their Mixmux EP, combining a discriminating palate for human and machine rhythm into their interpretation of minimal techno.
D1 : Mixmux - 6:22
The EP's title track is a steady dancefloor builder which leaves nothing out of place -- chugging drums, staccato vocal edits, and rich washes of reverberation are subtly shifted around a powerful hypnotic pulse which carries this peak hour track.
D2 : Tiempo Grande - 8:09
Another solid track, Tiempo Grande lays down chopped vox and ethnic percussion on a bed of beefy analog bass. The rhythmic workout gives way to an unexpected psychedelic guitar breakdown, culminating in a swirling melodic cacophony as the beat returns. Twisted horn stabs and guttural vocal articulations round out this meaty techno entree.

Layers of subliminal percolating melodies and bubbling bass rise from the dark in this subtly melodic ass mover. The stomp builds into a march as syncopated snare rolls and cryptic plucking rejoin the original theme to the pleasure of all.

This EP highlights the talents of Dutch up and comers EC50. This duo consists of Adam Hamidat and Maximin Lavoo. Max and Adam are making deep intelligent minimal and this release showcases this brilliantly. With a deep, moody remix by San Francisco's Alland Byallo, all angles are covered in this DJ friendly package.
Dead Fly features shuffling percussion bits juxtaposed with a punching kick drum. The breakdowns are spacey and layered, which all comes together when the beat returns.
D2 : Hia - 7:42 clip
Stuttering kickdrums and a travelling bassline weave in and out of the clanging industrial sounds. The final break has ascending subsonics which culimnates in a fury of fire.
D3 - Oh What A ... - 8:26 clip
Atmospheric origins converse with percussive elements. The pads wind away and the rhythm pulses through. There is a lot of layering and taking away in this track which covers ambient relaxation with dancefloor destruction.
D4 - Oh What A... (Alland Byallo Remix) - 9:18 clip
Beginning with reverbed congas, this remix takes the original deeper than the Marianna trench. The synth line builds to a nice melody which dissipates when the rhythm returns. Very deep and mental, excellent remix!

Some comments: Carsten Rausch: I really like Mario Plaza - Vocal Sense. All Mixes are nice, but the Original Mix is my fav. Full support for that one! Dave James: Vocal sense is cool, hypnotic mix is my fave. Galuszka: The original starts chunky and gets funky, a nice groove. The remixes by Luis Noic take it minimal. The Hipnotic remix revisits some classic techno sounds, love it. The Reddman: The Vocal Sense Track was very smooth. It was one of those tracks that make you want to just stand in front of the speaker, close your eyes and let the music take you on a trip to somewhere deep within your own mind.
