| About WRECKREATION |

WRECKREATION is a night based in the south west of england, focussed on bringing the biggest liquid d'n'b, breakbeat and electro house acts from around the world to the shadowy corners of the south west!
Wreckreation has so far enjoyed a 100% sell-out record and our opening year on the scene has been a banger with artists performing such as Goldie, Stanton Warriors, Aphrodite, Cyantific, Danny Byrd, Benny Page, Far Too Loud, Logistics, Alix Perez, Brookes Brothers, Ctrl Z and EZ Rollers.
We're also collaborating with the lovely 'Cabaret Voltaire' cru who are taking care of the second room for some of the larger nights and bringing you the finest sounds in the form of Nu-jazz, Broken Beat and Breaks. Nights with them have included headline sets for our residents in the Cab. V tent at Aeon festival, slots at Ed solo, Joker, GrooveDiggerz and brownswood recordings legend ben Westbeech
You can catch their residents, Mr puckey & Don Johnston on the one's and two's at most Wreckreation parties.
We've also enjoyed a collaboration with Exeter's finest and most respected d'n'b night Rinseout, which took place in october07 as we hosted room two (the liquid bar) for drum and bass' biggest name, Andy C.
Into the New Year now and we've got a busy year ahead filled with heavy nights and good vibes as we push to make ourselves a household name on the South West Drum & Bass circuit!
::Review from Exeter's 'The Flying Post'::
'No one could say that drum and bass nights in Exeter are thin on the ground, though sometimes we could still do with a bit of a kick up the arse to remind us of what really gets us stomping. The 10th of May 2008 saw the return of that kick up the arse.
Wreck:reation is the brainchild of 18 year old brothers Ed and Ollie and their two close mates Johnny and Jaye and looks set to become Exeter’s next big thing. With a sell out on their opening night and headlining artists including Aphrodite, Commix and Benny Page, these guys excelled themselves beautifully. Having worked so hard to make it happen, they really deserve every good thing coming their way.
They were coached along their first night by DJ Mystery, local promoter and founder of Breaksphere, who helped them gain momentum by doing some of the legwork and booking one of the headline artists to help them get their big debut off to a good start. But it was the four guys who put their money in and took the risk. In between college, revising for exams and earning the money to put on such an incredible night, they designed posters and flyers and spent hours getting the word out and putting said flyers and posters up all around Exeter.
I must say, this night completely blew my expectations away. I’m sure they’d honestly say the same. Saturday morning, we were all hoping that they’d break even, by Saturday evening, a complete sell out was in sight and people were not only arriving early, but ringing the Phoenix to secure spare tickets.
From the very beginning the atmosphere was buzzing and everyone was in high spirits. Although packed to capacity, the Phoenix was relaxed and for once, it didn’t take a decade to get a drink. Every single person in the Phoenix that night loved it. The Auditorium was very loud and very hot and very, very full. Ed and Ollie both played a set and the crowd loved it. Watch out for these two, DJ’s Gomez and Swing.Mr, they’ve got ambition and talent and I reckon they could be big…
Benny page absolutely ripped it and Jaye (MC Jabba Jaye to you) provided a little something lyrical to the concoction. The only real disaster of the night was Commix not turning up, although it was handled quickly and professionally and to be honest, I doubt if half the people there even remembered that they were meant to be playing...
The bar was on absolute par. Home to Breaksphere residents such as Mystery and Illogik, it was all camouflage netting and sweaty beings pounding the floor in ecstasy. It was face bashingly bassy and absolutely bloody brilliant.
I’d like to take a minute to publicly eat my words. I really couldn’t have expected something this good for a first night if I’d tried. They put in extraordinary amounts of effort and it did more than just paid off, it paid out. With a bank account for future nights, these lads are well on their way to reaching their goal of getting Wreck:wreation to be a household name. Consider them eaten.'
