I really like classic rock, but can take interest in any type of music as long as there is either a) good lyrics b) innovative or both. I like anything from metal to Celtic music.

Oh dear lord, this is a long list and I won't bore you with it. But here's a few- Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Star Wars, Spirited Away, Juno,Big Fish , The Prestige weirdo sci fi flicks with post apocolyptic/ dystopian society (think the Matrix, V for Vendetta, Logan's Run-cheesy but good), classics like Sunset Blvd, Taxi Driver, The Graduate and more weird twisty turny movies like Memento and movies with memorable lines oh and who doesn't like a good sword and sandal flick like Braveheart and Gladiator. Oh and anything Pixar and Disney.
Television
The Office, Dr. Who, Lost, Big Bang Theory, My Name is Earl, Top Chef, Project Runway, shows with food and weird twists.
Books
The Neverending Story, Momo, All Harry Potters, The Last Unicorn, The Phantom Tollbooth, Alice in Wonderland, King Dork, Shakespeare's Plays, 1984, The Uglies series, Ayn Rand books, The Sandman series and basically anything by Neil Gaiman
Heroes
My everbaby and Dwight Schrute. And again anyone who stands up for themselves, are aware, challenge the norm or what appears right, think deeply and differently and those that despite hardships still have the courage to be themselves and to see beauty in life. Basically people who never loose themselves to the world.

as you will find, getting published is hard. you have to do research - find a magazine, order a copy, then read their submission details.. there's alot, some big, some not, but you have to consider the style of yr work.. fraid yr gunna have to do the hard yards... try GUD, otherwise... good luck.. (no novels published ..yet)
