A REALLY GOOD INFLUENCE: Writer's Block proudly supports
Created and hosted by singer songwriter, Karen E. Reynolds (www.MySpace.com/karenereynolds), Writer's Block is a weekly, independently produced radio program featuring ONLY Independent Performing Songwriters, and airing every Wednesday night, 10-11pm est, on host affiliate, WDVX (www.wdvx.com) in Knoxville, TN. With a format that is predominently Americana/Acoustic, Writer's Block is NOT genre' specific and has been on the air for 11 years introducing listeners to great, independent and original music!
The success of the radio program spawned Writer's Block LIVE, Knoxville's premier 'listening room' concert series. The only series of it's kind to ever be produced in Knoxville, WBL featured touring independent, original artists in the plush auditorium located at the Knoxville Museum of Art in Downtown Knoxville. After a 5 year run, the regular series has been shelved in order to allow time for syndication of the radio program. INTERESTED STATIONS CONTACT WRITERSBLOCKINFO@AOL.COM.
Writer's Block also produces the occasional concert in select venues, still featuring ONLY Independent performing songwriters. With a customized sound system, professional promotion and an experienced production team, Writer's Block events set the bar for a quality, listening experience.
Writer's Block also takes an active role in the local music scene by hosting events, seminars, writer's nights and discussion groups geared towards the interests of independent artists. For information on having Writer's Block present a seminar for your group or organization, email writersblockinfo@aol.com.
SUBMISSION INFORMATION: Writer's Block airs only the independent performing songwriter and we openly accept unsolicited submissions for airplay consideration. Writer's Block is not genre' specific, however, the primary vocalist/performer must be the songwriter and the works must be independently produced. We do not currently accept EPK's or mp3's and require a CD to be sent. Submissions must include a one sheet with your contact information being clearly displayed. Please send materials to:
Writer's Block
PO Box 18157
Knoxville, TN 37928
Each submission is listened to in it's entirety. Please do not call our business office nor any affiliated radio station to follow up on a submission. You may e-mail writersblockinfo@aol.com after a period of three weeks to inquire about your materials' arrival. Writer's Block will not play music with offending or indecent content. Please clearly mark any tracks containing obscenities.
If we find that a submission is not a good fit for our current play list as designated by listener demographic and comments, we are happy to pass the CD along to another DJ who may have programming appropriate to that specific style. It's all in an effort to provide additional exposure and visibility for independent, original artists. Sorry, but cds sent for airplay consideration become the property of Writer's Block and cannot be returned.
For additional information on the radio program, concert production and all Writer's Block presentations, visit www.WritersBlockOnline.com or watch the calendar of events on this page.
