Who I'd like to meet:
Aims
1. To facilitate an opportunity for writers and directors to work on a script idea in a collaborative way over an extended period of time.
2. To foster a way of working wherein the script, although still very much the province and responsibility of the writer, is in many ways the product of a collaborative and inclusive process.
3. To include the audience in this process in as many ways as possible. To grant the audience a degree of ownership over or stake in the work. This should be accomplished through audience interaction at the ‘Festival’ days and internet content such as rehearsal videos, blogs, forums etc.
The Structure and Timetable
The ensemble is more or less a four month process starting now! There are three key dates that frame the process. The ‘Open Day’, where all the different companies converge on the Catford Broadway to have a look at the space and share ideas and resources, takes place on the 29th September
The festival day in October is the first opportunity for the companies to share their work with an audience. The day will run as follows. Each company performs their piece once in the space with five minutes break in between each performance. The audience comes and goes as they wish. Outside the space in the gallery and café area we shall endeavour to stage other mini events such as talks and discussions. The audience will be actively encouraged to feedback directly to the companies at the time.
