The creative force behind Write Way Designs is Susana Maria Rosende, a
Cuban-American who resides in Orlando, Florida with her two talented sons, five rambunctious dogs, two
mellow cats, two complacent fish, one singing parakeet, and a good sense of humor.
Susana's wacky
sense of humor is evident when she uses the photograph she took during Hurricane Charley to sell her Cafe Press products. She explains,
"The insurance didn't cover all the damage Hurricane Charley did to my home. If I can use Hurricane
Charley to earn the money I need to fix the damage and remodel, it will not only be ironic, but poetic
justice." Pensively, she adds, "You know, when life offers you lemons, you have no choice but to
make lemonade."
Susana knows about survival in the face of adversity. Her role models were her
parents, who left Cuba in 1962, with two babies and only one suitcase of clothing. Susana was one of those babies.

Gloria Estefan "Cuba Libre"
"Moneda Dura" a Pop-Rock group from Cuba:
"My parents were determined to start over in the United States," she reminices, adding
that 1962 was the year of the Cuban Missile Crisis, a difficult time for Cuban-Americans trying to find
work. "At the age of 35, my father was an educated, bilingual college graduate and a civil engineer
with 12 years experience. But, despite the posted job ads and his credentials, nobody would hire him. Like
many educated immigrants before him, he started over, as a land surveyor and draftsman, to provide for his family until he eventually found an engineering job."
Susana attended Rutgers University in New
Brunswick, New Jersey majoring in English Literature and Visual Arts, but did not graduate until she moved
to Florida as a single mother. At the University of Central
Florida (UCF) in Orlando, Susana earned a degree in English/Technical Writing. When asked why she
switched her major to Technical Writing she quips, "Divorce made me a more practical person!" Today,
Susana Rosende is a technical writer, Web author, and artist, with over 16 years experience in the technical
writing field. Susana is also a Senior Member of the Society for Technical Communication (STC - Orlando Chapter).
Although she happily works full-time as the Technical Publications Supervisor at a local title
insurance company, her freelance/part-time company, Write Way Designs, is a labor of love.
Susana also creates custom designs, such as portraits, cartoons, and caricatures from your
photographs. For custom designs on the product of your choice, contact Susana at susana@writewaydesigns.com or Contact.
(Susana's eldest son Brian is majoring in Music Composition and Theory at FSU. He is an artist, musician, composer, creative writer, poet, standup comic, and actor!)

(Susana's youngest son Joey is a Web author, video game designer, networking engineer, and aspiring computer programmer who has taught himself HTML, XHTML, DHTML, Javascript, and PHP. At just 13 years of age, he is also Susana's Technical Support Person for Write Way Designs at writewaydesigns dot com! See Joey's own computer games website: JRGP.org with donated games by various game designers and a couple of his very own, such as Computer Trivia with Joe.)
Susana Rosende believes strongly in giving back to the community, so Write Way Designs donates a
percentage of its revenue each month to one of the following charities or organizations:
Who I'd like to meet: Business owners, artists, writers, authors, musicians, actors, film makers...those who follow their dreams by pursuing the Arts!
