crow house's Interests
General
recycling the detritus of a wasteful capitalist society
Music
i like music.
Television
nah.
Books
so many books. i refuse to recycle books that people may want to or should read, as i find that offensive. recycling of still valid materials is just as wasteful as throwing things out when you are done with them.
i like to read and write, and i want to encourage others to read and write, too.
Heroes
all who make their own clothes, grow their own food, record their own music, make their own paper, write and read and create from the mess left all around us. etc.
About me: harpy books is a division of crow house publishing and distribution. these are blank books made by hand from hardcovers found on the street, or languishing in thrift stores everywhere. sometimes i still make blank books completely from scratch, but those take a little more time, and are not for mass consumption.
i also silkscreen, currently patches and shirts but soon posters and other such things. i enjoy trying to figure out how to fix old typewriters.
as of may 11, 2008 i have added some actual photos of actual books for sale to the hastily-taken photos of books in progress. to order any of the books you see, please add $3 for media mail postage, or $6 for regular postage (i know, expensive, but they ARE heavy) and drop me an email at jflux666@yahoo.com to ensure availability. since books are one-of-a-kind, they will be sold on a first-come, first-serve kind of basis.
but i don't just want to sell stuff, i also want to use this as a tool to get in touch with other crafty types, and to keep everyone updated with whatever craft fairs/book fairs i will be attending.
keep checking back for other things i make, along with some things my friends make.
i also do a zine, called we are not the moon. the first issue is more or less available for $3 + $1 or $2 postage, whatever you got. or, i love trades, but you have to send something more than a one-sheet broadside or such. unless it is the most heart-rending one-sheet broadside ever. basically, it has to be something you put your soul into.
ok, that said, write for more information or for a street address. i am currently between p.o. boxes.
