Wrythe began as a studio project in 1998, formed by Jade (bass, guitar, vocals, keyboards, programming), and Justin (lead guitar, vocals). This was an experimental project, attempting to create a fusion of Black metal, classical and Trip hop.
In early 2005 they met James, a young and talented drummer. After a brief audition James was in. With the addition of a live drummer, the band decided to pursue a new sound, and changed their name to Cannonsong to reflect this new direction. Later that year, they recruited Mike J on vocals (who would later switch to guitar), and Serena on viola.
After auditioning a handful of singers, Karri joined the band in 2006 as lead vocalist. Serena left the band in 2007 to pursue college, and in early 2008 the band name was changed again to Wrythe.
In late 2008 the decision was made to temporarily relocate the band to Las Vegas... This should prove to be interesting.
