Worcester School of Rock & Performance is a great place for 8 - 118 yr olds to come and make rock music! We are based in sunny Worcester, England, and run our courses on Saturdays at Christopher Whitehead High School.
There are three age groups at WSRP:
Students are sorted into bands, allocated a room, and then get to work on deciding what tunes to cover or create over the next 10 weeks. Those songs are then performed in a big end of term show. It's really good fun.
Tutors give lessons and help coach bands during the time they're at WSRP. For more info visit www.wsrp.co.uk

1: The Summer term of WSRP begins on Saturday 25th April 2009.
2: If you are remotely interested in who the best rock guitarists in the world today are then you'd better listen to anything by Guthrie Govan (youtube him - you won't regret it!) or Greg Howe - as in this video:
You must watch the vid until the end.

I'd like to say Brian really put WSRP on the map in Worcestershire and making it as succesful as it is, is a great achievement. I will continue to keep things the same and try to do whatever I can to help WSRP grow and do its job, which is basically to get 8 to 118 year olds playing and performing music.
Many bands and musicians in this area have attended WSRP and the bands who have continued to play music are still gigging. The enthusiasm and hard work of all the staff has paid off over the years and Brian did a great job taking over from Mick Jones who started this off as Rock School in 1998. Brian will be a relief guitar tutor at WSRP when required and will always be welcome! Crack open a beer and feet up Brian!

It has been announced that Brian Hoggard is standing down as the owner of the Worcester School of Rock and Performance (WSRP) after the end-of-term show at Bishop Perowne High School in Worcester this Sunday (29th March 2009).
On behalf of all the students of WSRP past and present (yes The Abbot was once a student at WSRP) may I thank Brian Hoggard for all the hard work, dedication and endless enthusiasm that Brian has injected into the WSRP to make it the most popular privately owned "rock schools" in the region.
Brian has helped launch many fledgling bands and performers on to the local music scene as well as giving every student, from the age 8 years up to old and ancient fools like The Abbot, the chance to perform "live" on a
professionally run rock music stage at the end of each WSRP term.
Brian Hoggard is a respected musician and I for one will be on the lookout for Brian wheeling his guitar at a local venue in the near future - now he has a bit of time on his hands.
Best of luck to Jez Cole (bassist from Epsilon Red and tutor at WSRP) and his lovely wife Cymone who have taken over the ownership of WSRP and who will, I am quite sure, maintain the high standard of tuition and musicianship at Worcester's premier school of rock music.
Brian Hoggard, thank you again….RESPECT to you my friend!
Keep the faith!
