Wayne is an improvising cellist and composer of extreme flexibility and versatility. Led off the straight and narrow (musically speaking) at an early age by a passion for the weird and wonderful he is constantly demanding new ways to make his chunk of wood and strings rock.
Currently one-fifth of the signed band “Pest” (Ninjatune), Wayne (a.k.a Wulfnote)'s celling experiments are highly evident here as they are on his own projects some of which are the listed tracks above (his Wulfnotes). Other "featuring credits" in this vain include Fedka the Irritant, works on the "Panic Bridge" label, works by Matt Chandler, Vesa haapenen, and Saffrolla...go see.
Of course he still likes to respect his "classical" roots from time to timeperforming solo and orchestral works, and playing as part of the widely recorded 4x4 string quartet.
Graduating from City University and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1998, Wayne has appeared on recordings or performed with the likes of:
David Gray, Kosheen, The Cinematic Orchestra, Bonobo, Jocelyn Brown, Roots Manuva, Bah Samba, Glen Matlock, Future Sound of London, Jon Thorne, Paul Ewing, Lou Rhodes, The Spotlight Kid, Rosie Gaines and has appeared "Top of the Pops" and "Later with Jools Holland". As an experienced stringed instruments specialist, he has written/collaborated or arranged string parts for some of the above names, Coldcut, John Holt and the Beauty Room.
As a Composer, producer and Sound designer, Wayne has displayed critically acclaimed work in numerous sound/music disciplines within the Audio/Visual industry. 10 years on in the business, he has attained a rounded and flexible approach to the development and role of the soundtrack in a moving picture. This successful approach has earned him the confidence of clients such as:
