About me:
The V has ushered in its brand new programming format beginning in the fall of 2006. Everything you know and love about the station is still the same : music, DJ's, programming, the BBC. But now, we are bringing you the best in today's ACTUAL MUSIC, and in doing so better representing and entertaining our audience. You can listen online at www.messiah.edu/wvmm , or as always at 90.7 FM in the greater harrisburg area. Check us out, you won't be disappointed.
WVMM is a 100-watt, non-commercial radio station. The studios are located on the first floor of Larson Student Union . The transmitter is located next to the water tower, behind Kelly Residence.
The money for WVMM comes from the Student Government Association (SGA) and through Messiah College's Academic budget. The station's primary purpose is to serve as an educational tool. It is both a place for students to gain experience in radio, and an outlet for instructional radio programming.
Messiah College had a radio station from 1970-1983. On October 6, 1989, WVMM was resumed, this time as an over-the-air FM radio station. Prior to that, it was heard only on campus.
The station is run by a Faculty Advsor, Station Coordinator, and 4 stident managers. It is upheld each school year by volunteer student DJs. Over the summer commuinity volunteer's are permitted timeslots.
