We don't sound like most of the other metal bands out there right now. We have a raw, bang-your-head heavy metal style, and mentality, that's missing from a lot of the current heavy metal numbers. Not to say there are not a lot of terrific bands playing right now, But we try to offer something different. A unique style that is a melting pot of different influences. Pantera, Dio, Danzig, Judas Priest, and Type O Negative, just to name a few. We don't try to play music that we think everyone will like, that will appeal to all audiences. Instead, We play what sounds good to us. The kind of music that we would want to hear if we went to a local venue and pissed away $10.00 for. We may not appeal to everybody, but the fans we have are what keeps us doing what we love to do. Rockin' your balls off!
Now for the facts. Disgusted rose from the ashes of another band 'Ampallang', A death-metal number that was headed nowhere. Ampallang's guitarist, Grimm never really left the music scene, constantly hard at work practicing for when he could find another band. Finally Grimm looked up his old bandmate, Baron, who was the former bassist for Ampallang. Knowing that Baron had always wanted to sing, he decided to form a new band with himself on guitar and Baron on vocals. Both men were allready married to aspiring musicians, so it seemed logical to put in their wives as bassist and keyboardist. Sadly, Page's duty as a mother prevented her from continuing, so her position was taken over by their guitar tech, Pyro.
There was now a band, all it needed was a name. Idea after idea was trashed as the group discovered their list of names had all been taken. Finally, in exasperation, Baron cried out (overly dramatic, but this is the Baron we're talking about)"I'm disgusted with this band name search" And it hit like a wall of inspiration, a name that was not only not taken, but one that fit the mood of the band and their music.
Originally the band was going to start out as alot of bands do, doing covers. Some Manson, Misfits, Type O, and that sort of music. But the band discovered early on, some of the lyrics Baron had written fit perfectly with some of the riffs that Grimm had been working on. Everyone else worked their magic with their instruments, and the band hasn't stopped writing their own material yet. The First song they released, 'broke' has so far been met with much approval, and everywhere they play, their fans request their cover of Marilyn Manson's "The Nobodies". Also in the works are "Sell Me" "Less than people" And, "Nothing inside". They also have a couple more covers they are putting to their unique style.
Disgusted has many more songs in the works, ranging from macabre little numbers about death to hard-rocking songs about consumerism in modern society. Though you never know what the unique minds of 'Disgusted' are going to do next, rest assured, they will keep crunching out their own brand of insanity, and they will do things their own way. We love to be loved, and we don't mind being hated, but we absolutely hate being ignored!
