This is Edwyn's own MySpace, organised for him by his son Will.
Edwyn Collins was born in Edinburgh. He grew up in Dundee and moved to Glasgow at 14. When he was 16, he sold his stamp collection to buy a cheap Burns guitar and an amp. Having taught himself to play, he formed a punk rock band with some schoolmates which he named after the guitar, the NuSonics. This group became Orange Juice, the first act on the famous Postcard Records of Scotland label, which Edwyn founded with the jumped up little Scotsman, Alan Horne.
Postcard was small but perfectly formed, burned brightly for a short time.
Orange Juice had a longer life and some notable successes, but they too gave up the ghost in 1985. That's a very long time ago.
Since then Edwyn has enjoyed a long and varied solo career. One of the highs was when he had a runaway global killer hit in 1995 with a song called "A Girl Like You."
Altogether, not counting compilations and "best of" albums, Edwyn and Orange Juice have released nine albums, most of which he has produced himself.
2005 was a pretty terrible year for Edwyn and his family. In February Edwyn suffered a very serious cerebral haemorrhage and after brain surgery, spent six months in hospital. He's doing much better now and continues the fight to recover all his former powers.
Until Will showed him, Edwyn had never heard of MySpace. Now it's part of his therapy.

Saw a friend's ticket stub today and it reminde me how much I loved your music (especially OJ from back in the day). Glad to see you're doing well and touring. :-)
HI EDWYN, YOU REALLY ARE AMAZING, I HAVE JUST WATCHED YOU ON TV AT GLASTONBURY, YOU WERE BRILL, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, I LOVE HOME AGAIN, TAKE CARE ANNE XXXXXXXX
Just had Will down the studio, sprinkling a little liveliness amongst our creaky old bones. Recording going swell. I managed to sneak in a bit of OJ in one of our songs (Vondelpark)...."I could be kidding me on......"
Good Luck with shows and hope we can catch up with you and Amazing Grace before we're gone back to Glesga (likely end of next week)

Hi, thanks for the add Edwyn. I saw the recent documentary which I found very moving but also inspiring. Just heard 'Home Again' which is hit of the week on radio Nottingham. Its a beautiful song and im now determined to explore more of your music. Keep on...
I... I've always been very good when it comes to words. But, when it comes to Home Again, I find myself almost speechless. That album is stunningly wonderful. It fills up more of my heart with each and every listen. Thank you, Edwyn, for making this record. Well, all of your records, really, but this one... ooh...
Just wanted to say that it was a shame you couldn't make it to the tribute night at the Social on Monday; all the bands put in some fine performances of some of your best songs. Goodnight & I Wish's rendition of Louise Louise was particularly brilliant, as was Harvey Williams' piano take on Dying Day. You'd have loved it.
Really looking forward to the new single - can't wait to hear a recorded version of "Searching for the Truth" :-) All the best, sir! x
edwyn dear - i've just found the richard skinner bbc session you did with paul quinn in 1985. it's gorgeous if crackly and up at www. dusty7s. blogspot. com x
Hope you don't mind this shameless plug for our friends Edwyn! Feel free to do the same to us. Check them out, they're great! They said they'd tried adding you but you weren't taking bands.
