At the moment, and for the past few years, I've been working on my own doing live shows.
My fantastic brother Pete has mostly always been involved in the production , whether it's producer, co-producer, or just general arse kicker of samantha who takes bloody ages doing everything. Pete is very very talented and of course always right. He writes songs, plays brilliant guitar, mandolin, mandola. beautiful whistle, bass and has a voice not to be argued with.
i have another brother Richard, who is the most amazing drummer...and also writes great music, and who is an inspiration as a person.
Herbie Flowers, I'm privileged to say, has played bass with me periodically...if only I were 20 years older!
Also on bass over the years...Ed Poole, Ian Maidman( now Jennifer...love to hear from you x ), David Levy, oh dear...I can't remember everyone, anyway there's some.
the beautiful Carol Isaacs played keyboards with us for a while.
Mitt Gamen played harmonica with us in Australia wearing Full black leather regalia there in the summer....a leg end!!
Jakko Jacsyk, Gavin Harrison Phil Palmer, David Gilmore, oh yes, and
MY DAD....has played guitar, and fiddle and mandolin I believe.
MY DAD IS FANTASTIC!
....and, er, Jools....Mr. Fantastic... Holland!
Also my bestest friend Margo has sung with me forever, since before we were born....(and that is quite tricky I should say!)
Aitch McRobbie has sung, so has lovely Claudia Fontaine...er, Jim Capaldi, Phil Saatchi....I know I'm going to forget someone....Aaron McRobbie played bass. wow.there's more, but now my mind's gone blank...!
Influences
...my mum, Thelma Houston, Randy Newman, Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush, Blondie, Lowell George and Little Feat , Stevland Morris, Pink Floyd, 10cc, Syreeta, Earth Wind and Fire, Donny Hathaway, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, ...think I'll have to add to this later!
Hello.I seem to have been singing and writing songs for umpteen years now.I absolutely love my musical life. I've worked with lots of very wonderful people, and every single person has inspired me in one way or another.Music has taken me to many different places, physically and emotionally....playing and listening and feeling. Lucky me.
i play(just about!) piano, ukulele and bass, and I suppose in some way, my songs have been a narrative to my life.
and so the story goes... If you like my music you can buy it at www.sambrownshop.com...
I've uploaded a new track. Originally written and recorded in 1994 on a porta studio this is the 15th anniversary digital mix.
is about a memorable summer. To sum up what it was
really about; sunshine and concerts, a carefree lifestyle and far too
many illicit chemicals. The biggest selling album at the time was Dark
Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd and this song is a kind of pastiche of
that.

Hey Sam and Team Found you via your old bass player's myspace, who's a lovely bloke! Fond memories of Town and Country Club back in the day, and that bit on "Stop" where the Hammond kicks in for the solo, the sound of the mains hum just before it starts there gives me the goosebumps everytime Thanks for connecting with us!
