~ My name is Debi DeSantis and I am originally from the Philadelphia area and moved to Florida in 1991 where I now live in Palm Beach with my family.
~ I began writing poetry and short stories when I was in high school and since then I have written and published two Romance Novels and one children’s book. I’m now working on my third novel and hope to have it completed by the end of the year. I love writing which takes up hours and hours of my day. This is not a 9-5 job and almost every night I am sitting in my comfy chair, listening to the T.V., numb butt and all, and the clock reads 12am. It’s not glamorous, but its fun and I can’t imagine doing anything else.
~ My latest venture is book cover design; I started with my own covers and then branched out to fellow authors and several publishers. Besides writing and designing I’m also interested in the Criminal Justice Field and doing anything that involves being creative. I make gourmet gift baskets during the holiday and design beaded jewelry.
~ Travel is my vice...my escape from the real world and my “Utopia” which contributes to some of my poetry and writing choices. My family and I have been to the most spectacular places...Italy, Austria, Germany, Ireland, England, and almost every island in the Caribbean. My travels have served as a backdrop for some of my stories with the hopes for taking my readers to places that they may have not been to before.
~ My ideal dream would be to live in Northern Italy, in a small town called Bolzano, which is surrounded by the Italian Alps. It is genuinely captivating, peaceful and truly overwhelming in its beauty. It’s a place that simply took my breath away...there are no other words to describe it. Not to mention the food was great and so was the chocolate. Just imagine living on a hillside overlooking a vineyard, or on an island swinging in a hammock under a palm tree, drinking some kind of fruity drink and soaking up the sun…maybe some day. I’ll let you know how it goes.
If I Can Dream by Elvis Presley

let's see....I love freestyle(90's mostly) and of course Elvis.....
My other favorites include Def leppard~~
Journey~~ Foreigner~~ and a few other classic rock bands.
I love country as well, especially stuff by Sugarland~~ Keith Urban~~Kenny Chesney and Rascal Flatts. I really don't care for the music today and would much rather listen to the stuff from the early 90's through the late 90's
Movies
I don't really care for chick lit or love stories, however I did enjoy Under the Tuscan Sun. I do like a great thriller as long as all of the lights are on and there is some other noise going on in the room at the same time. That way it's not as scary. I adore Mombo in Happy Feet and I love watching kids movies with my son. I think Leonardo DiCaprio was outstanding in "Blood Diamond" and "The Departed"
Some of my other fav's are action as long as it is not totally fake (i.e James Bond, Mission Impossible and others like that.) However I really enjoyed all of the Spiderman movies, Transformers, Pride and Glory, Traitor, Body of Lies, X-Men/Wolverene, and Ghost Rider. I am a Fantastic Four fan as well. Oh yeah, I like Van Helsing too. I can't wait to see the new Transformers II movie, it looks awesome.
It’s obvious that I can't get enough of Elvis. My favorite Elvis movies are...It Happened at the Worlds Fair~~G.I.Blues~~ and Blue Hawaii. I am a huge fan of Everybody Love's Raymond~~Gang Nation~~America's Funniest Home Videos~~ Spongebob~~Dexter on showtime~~Monk and everything on Court T.V.~~
Years ago I would faithfully watch Silk Stalkings and I was sad that it had to end (Rob Estes is gorgeous) I love true crime shows. Castle, Burn Notice, Lie To Me, Flash Point, Life, The First 48, and all of the Most Shocking and Wildest Police chases. You get the point. LOTS of action and the good guys getting the bad guys*****
Vantriliquist Jeff Dunham and his puppets are awesome.
Oh yeah, check out the family****
A dramatic, at times sad story, She Cries in the Dark, self-published through Lulu, beautifully portrays the living sequence of a young woman’s existence, facing life’s moments of harmony and anguish, that eventually leads up to the horror that every parent fears. Stout characters support this smooth, tangible plot, providing a fantastic and engaging read. Grab tissues and a carton of your favorite ice cream as this genuine contemporary will tug at your emotions, making your eyes water.

Contemporary Rating: 4 cups
Ms. DeSantis’ story is amazingly realistic.
She weaves the story along as though she is watching it all instead of writing it. Her details about Maci’s feelings and actions are what you would expect in real life. I was so sad while reading I had to take breaks. Her book gives hope to those who have gone through major life changes that they can get through with faith and not to give up. Readers looking for a contemporary that is not full of comedy have to check out this incredible book!"
My favorite books are mine of course, 'The Other Side of You' and 'She Cries in the Dark'

Morgan Whitley unknowingly became the other woman when she fell in love with Jason Moore. She met Jason in a London hotel and for the next four years loved him deeply until his untimely death. Through it all, Jason’s best friend, Jack, has stood by her and supported her in her grieving process.
Jack Turner is secretly in love with Morgan and is unsure how to handle his feelings. He has always hated that Jason was too much of a coward to leave his wife and become a true husband to Morgan. Now, he must help two women deal with the aftermath of Jason’s death.
Morgan and Jack will face more than just the fallout of Jason’s death because Morgan soon finds that she is carrying the only hope Jason’s son Keegan has of surviving leukemia. Morgan and Bree, Jason's widow, learn to come to terms with Jason’s deceit and under the watchful eye of Jack, become friends joined by their children from Jason. Jack is patient but soon he must reveal his feelings for Morgan as they are becoming stronger every day.
The author took a unique path in writing this story because the romance really takes second place to the relationship between the mistress and the wife. Although an unusual twist on a love story, it made the book all the more interesting to read. I commend the author on her ability to detail the pain of everyone involved and show that not all women become bitter from betrayal. The Other Side of You is a moving experience and should not be missed.

Who I'd like to meet:
I would have to say the person I would most like to meet would be Elvis.
I know that that sounds strange, but it's true. I think he has the most pleasant, soothing, and beautiful voice I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. He seemed to be such a giving and caring man. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for his fans.(even die for them, just to make sure he was everything they wanted him to be and more) I have not had the privilege of seeing Graceland yet, but I will get there soon. I was lucky enough to see him in concert at the Spectrum in Philly just before he died. I was only 9 at the time but it is something that I will always remember.
I would also like to have the pleasure of meeting Ricky Martin, the work he does with children around the world is above and beyond what he has been put on this earth to do. The kindness and the love he has for these children is amazing. And the fact that he is absolutely gorgeous doesn’t hurt either. I would love to just sit and talk with him about the places he has been and the things he has seen (both good and bad)He is extremely well spoken and just listening to him speak captivates me.
