About me:
88.3FM WXUT is the student-run radio station at the University of Toledo. We're non-profit, and broadcast 1,000 watts of legal beagle FCC licensed power.

Our taste in music is pretty varied, going from alternative rock to metal to rap to bluegrass to world music to someone farting in a microphone...well not that far, but you get the idea. We also like to dig out the underground and introduce them to the masses.

Who I'd like to meet:
We're looking for just about anyone that's efficient in the "Badass" category from all over the world. If you fall under this category, then you should probably get a hold of us. Oh and if you are wanting to help spread our message of fun, awesome, and good tunes...then you should probably add us, too.

air, energy, and truth in music as he plays on his stripped-down
acoustic guitar combined with searing vocals.
Rovics is nationally acclaimed outspoken political singer/songwriter
who tours all over North America, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East,
Japan and occasionally elsewhere performing hundreds of shows a year.
"Banned by most mainstream US radio stations, David has carved out a niche
in the folk scene since the mid-1990s. I would challenge anyone to find a
more talented or hard hitting lyricist. ... As well as casting his critical eye
over current affairs, Rovics is a master at drawing attention to great

hi, i know that it is jazz during the day, i was hoping you could leave a note/ask persons in charge to bring up a local show this weekend. it's @ woodchucks (across the street from the new civic center on erie street) it's Prayers for Rain w/Static Rituals on Saturday, and it's free. if you could have whomever in charge of the "college radio" or what not time space.

to be more specific, JAX is in college range, hasn't been hit up as much as it should. this is actually intended to be directed at the core UT student atmosphere/"audience". there are three bands, but it's more intended to be a "party" then a "show". we have DJ'S, and it's a Pajama Party (because it's Friday the 13th) so the discount goes to girls in pink (for Valentine's Day or PJ's) and to guys in black or dressed in costume. Believe it or not, we have (with the exception of the Drawers and the Dashburns) the three best bands in Toledo playing, didn't know if we could get in touch with the right people (DJ's that host local shows, punk shows, indie shows or rock shows in general). i've been booking since 1996, but, i took a long break. my name is brett and my voice mail is 734.478.3790, if you can tell me who to get in touch with, and i'm going to copy and paste my "thing" here about the show.... don't do this often, but it's worth it...
