Sounds Like
I've been told that I sound like Cat Stevens, Van Morrison, or James Taylor. I'd like to think that I've got a good blend of all of these to make a sound that is uniquely mine.
Wyatt Easterlings creativity and dedication to music has given him working knowledge of the music business through true life experiences. He has developed a broad understanding of the music industry from his positions with major and independent record labels, an insider’s viewpoint. This experience has taught him how to achieve the ultimate goal: making great music and making money.
As CEO of the newly formed High Horse Records (HHR), Wyatt is stepping out to embrace the new model for record labels. One that focuses on the digital downloads of established artists who tour widely and have a presence in the marketplace.
“There is a changing of the guard; the major labels have held fast to their old ways of marketing and distribution and are now playing catch up to the digital market place. We’re smaller and leaner and can move much faster on new releases or other publicity and marketing opportunities that come our way.”
Wyatt Easterling as a successful Chief of A&R for Atlantic Records, signed John Michael Montgomery, Michael Johnson, Neal McCoy and Tracy Lawrence. Easterling produced the multi-platinum debut album, Life's A Dance for Montgomery while there, which has sold well over three million units worldwide. Wyatt has also produced and/or worked in the studio with many artists including Paul Thorn, Keith Urban, hilljack, and Celeste Krenz.
After leaving Atlantic Records, Wyatt partnered with Miles Copeland (The Police, Sting) forming the Nashville Division of Bugle Publishing Group and Firstars Management as Director of Operations and spearheading the Printemps de Troubadours, a songwriter's retreat held twice a year at the Chateau de Mourette in France. This event continues today with great success and is emulated by numerous other publishing companies throughout the world.
There Easterling made huge strides in publishing and management. Easterling brought Keith Urban to Firstars and produced sides that landed Keith at Warner Bros. Records. He also produced sides on another Firstars client, Paul Jefferson, which secured him a deal at Almo Sounds. Of the sides cut on Paul Jefferson, one went on to become the number one smash for Aaron Tippin, "That's As Close As I'll Get To Lovin' You". Easterling brought alternative rock artist Paul Thorn into the company for management and publishing before producing Paul's album, "Hammer & Nail" for A&M Records in Los Angeles.
In addition to his business career, Wyatt is a successful artist and writer. In the beginning of 2006 Easterling decided to focus on record production and songwriting. To accomplish this Easterling launched Terra Nova Music, LLC with hit writer Sonny LeMaire, ("Beautiful Mess","When She Cries", and "She Thinks She Needs Me") along with Curb Recording Artist Buffy Lawson ("Bomshel"), joining as staff writers for the new venture. Easterling's songs have been recorded by Dierks Bentley, Joe Diffie, Billy Joe Royal, Neal McCoy, Sons of the Desert, Tim McGraw, hilljack, and others. He recently has the title cut on the platinum album "Modern Day Drifter" with Dierks Bentley and Capitol Records while Sonny LeMaire has the current Clay Walker hit single "Fall".

When are you planning to come back to NC for a visit?????????
Sorry it took us so long to get around to putting grafitti on your wall Wyatt.
Woulda been here sooner but we all got coloring books for Christmas and then we started to walk to the inaguration but only made it as far as Dollywood, which turned out to be the better choice after all, since we would have been looking at our new president from somewhere near Sterling, Virginia, according to the crowd reports.
Oh, yeah, we are also diggin your tunes and looking forward to the release.
