   Wychwood Festival's Blurbs
About me:
Wychwood is a Festival with a conscience, as well as playing host to some of the best artists from Folk, Indie, World, Pop, Jazz and Chillout, the Festival has strong associations with NGOs such as Oxfam, Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace, who all come and take part in a number of different ways from stewarding to giving workshops or showing films in our solar-powered cinema. Combine this with comedy, workshops for all ages, healing fields, global bazaar, great food and real ale and you looking at the best way to kick off the summer season. It is a festival created by its audience for its audience , so we let them speak for themselves… “We had such a great time with our four kids, our four year old cried when it came time to go and it's all they have talked about since!” “Excellent festival and great music. Our group ranged in age from three to - well, me - but everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. And the kids loved the activity tents - so would I if I could have torn myself away from the music.” “I've said it elsewhere and I'll say it again – lovely festival - I came for the rainy Saturday last year and was back for the entire weekend this time, thought it was utterly fab.” “It was the best weekend I have had in years. I loved it. The Mrs loved it. The nippers loved it… Everybody loved it” “As a festival virgin I didn’t have a clue what to expect, but it was absolutely fabulous…you’ve given me the bug!”

Hello Wychwood,

RAINBOW MUSIC CAMP, was a cosmic expierance of Jammin Musicians & connecting with a Rainbow Tribe of people feeling as one Energy with Mother Earth, the Stars, Sun & Moon, Drum Circles round the Fire of Life into the Spirit & Soul of the Heartbeat of Mother Earth up into the Universe, Moon & Stars.
I did my first Bodhran Workshop, it went really well, feeding off the vibes of Rainbow Energy positively, passing on the energy of the bodhran drum to people to give them inspiration, confidence, teaching & to develop your own style & sound of playing the bodhran.
Jammin with some great musicians on stage & round fire with a lot of connection of feeding on the energy of the food of life~ Music, Drums, Mother Earth, Rainbow Warriors, The Tribe of Rainbow people, the Stars, Sun & Moon.
Played drums with the Circle Dance, 5 Rhythms Wave, Ceilidh band, Procession and jammin.

The Rainbow Warriors are as One Heartbeat
As One with the Mother Earth of Life
The Spirit of the Drums are as One Drumbeat
As One with the Rainbow Vibe of life
The Cosmic Expierances are as One Love
As One with the Rainbow Tribe of Life
The Light of the Sun & Moon are as One Universe
As One with the Rainbow Music Camp of Life Eternal.

Peace & Love Alasdair.

Friday 2nd May - a Wychwood warm up!!
The Travelling Band - Dirty Fakirs - Rainbow Trout
Till 2.00 with after show Dj set from Reg Carlo & the Squid
£5/£4 for frequent doggers and anyone going to wychwood!
The Travelling Band
No matter what your taste in music, you can't help but get drawn in to the modern country-rock sound of The Travelling Band. They combine lively musical energy with poetic lyrics and brilliantly clear vocal harmonies.

Originally from Manchester, the band has already made a name for themselves on both sides of the pond, dividing their time between gigs in New York as well as across the UK.

Like any folk-country band worth their salt, The Travelling Band are most at home on stage and have become famed for their live performances at Glastonbury, The Homegame festival in Anstruther, The Manchester Academy and The Regal Rooms in London. They have recently supported Elvis Perkins on his UK tour as well as performing regularly at the Sideways Saloon at the Bay Horse.

Dirty Fakirs
Dirty Fakirs are a 6 piece band from Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire who formed in August 2006 and have been winning audiences over ever since with their unique blend of punk/rock/blues/jazz.
Rainbow Trout - cream influenced new rockish band from manc. more info at www. doghouseuk.
