Presently, History of Rock has worked up the musical ladder to "Bands of the 80's"...next to come Heavy Metal. I sure am gonna miss this class next year.
I love most all music, although Bob Dylan has to be my all time, number one favorite of all. He's the best song writer who ever existed. People might think the music explosion, that produced hundreds of bands, started with the Beatles. Wrong! It started with Bob Dylan, for a fact. He changed everything about music, then came the Beatles Invasion.
Dylan started out just a kid from Minnesota, ran away from home 17 times as a teen and his parents relented for him to take to NY. He hitch-hiked with little money, a suitcase, harmonica and a guitar, changed his name to Bob Dylan on the road, then did the bar scene, sing and "pass the cup"to get by. He knew he belonged and in present day says he was more happy on stage than any where in his life time. Sang his heart out at Gerdes and met some of the legends there. Joan Baez was already famous with two gold records when she met him there singing "Masters of War". She didn't know what to think of him. He was interested in her sister Mimi--then under the advice of Mimi's boyfriend was told.."Joan's your ticket." Dylan took it to heart and they started singing together. She took him to Newport Folk Festival on her concerts and of course that was it. He would have been a legend without her, but everyone helps when you're headed up the ladder, someone famous in your field is a huge help. Those two have always been awesome, together in the early years, or even now still touring separately. They were off and on for many years and finally parted ways after they did the "Rolling Thunder Review in '76 and one with Santana in '78, now they're good friends only. He had broken her heart in '76, but it is good they can still be friends.
Folk music is not for everyone, but it is basically the origins, after Gospel & Country of all of the music we enjoy yesterday, today and tomorrow. Music has so much history it's unfathomable, as far back as Alglo-Celtic and African roots that fed the main stream of all the others eons ago. So, if you love music then enjoy it, and remember which types were the first & be thankful they Did come first.

Who I Would Like to Meet-The president of the United States, who is now O'Bama. I would have a lot to say, given that some of the country's laws are outdated and need changing. In so many ways it's all flocked up.
Then I'd want to meet Bob Dylan. Dylan and The Beatles changed everything about American music. Without them, who knows where the direction of the music we enjoy today would have gone. It's an amazing journey no matter what your preference. Yes, I am long-winded, so now go read my blogs and the other side of this page. Welcome and thanks for reading.
Hello Wyn, I am not about here on myspace that much anymore, do you have a facebook account by any chance? I am there a little more these days :) Hope you are well my friend. Oh and glad you enjoyed the album :)
Hi, Wyn--Haven't been writing this year except on my online journal. I spend all my time there or on Facebook. I haven't even signed onto MySpace since August! OOPS!
Thank you Wyn. I find an image on the internet, manipulate, add effects and a quote or thought I have and voila... I've made my comment. It's a lot of fun.
Yeah, me too, I wanted to have the orchestra inside, but alack, that did not happen, lol. Fleas are sooooo freakin' hard to get rid of. We sprayed the entire carpet of the house, let the spray stay in for like four hours and had our reprieve for about three days and then theeeeyyy'rrreee baaaaccckk!, lol. I was going to try powder, glad I didn't through your experience I see that doesn't work either, lol. Thank God winter is coming mayhap they will go away, lol. Have you tried FrontLine Plus for cats? I just applied Frontline Plus for dogs and it seems to be getting a little better for them anyways.
Outside rabbits three of them, and I have three hermit crabs, two dogs, one huge fish, no kidding! and soon about to have a mouse. My little cousin decided it wasn't such a great pet after all, , but he wanted it for his b-day. I am just about to have a zoo, lol. Tried having frogs one time and they were like mutated or something, lol. they would never completely metamorphosize or whatever they are supposed to do, lol. And fleas drive me bonkers too.
