WYSIWIG, an acronym borrowed from computing. “What you see is what you get” defines the band’s perception of modern society. Our thoughts and illusions may seem to be as real as the world that surrounds us. The WYSIWYG project is based on this ambiguity.
WYSIWIG is a place, a space with codes, characters and stories; in a world where the boundaries between what is real and imaginary are undefined and intertwined. Secrets, childhood memories, the effervescence of the city, desire and instinct are the main themes of this imageless cinema.
“Pixelated Dream” is WYSIWYG’s first LP. We follow Matt, a young man bored by the monotony of daily routine, who faces souvenirs he buried far too fast. The tracks are outlined by a spoken voice that leads us as he wanders through the city.
On the verge of Rock, WYSIWYG’s music has the taste of strangeness yet feels real, electric, acoustic, piercing and penetrating.

WYSIWIG pour « What You See Is What You Get » ; un acronyme initialement utilisé en informatique. Signifiant littéralement « ce que vous voyez est ce que vous obtenez », le groupe s’est approprié l’expression pour définir sa propre vision du monde moderne. Nos pensées et nos illusions peuvent nous sembler aussi réelles que ce qui nous entoure. C’est sur cette ambigüité que se base le projet WYSIWYG.
WYSIWYG cherche à recréer un univers qui dépasse le strict cadre musical. C’est un lieu, un espace avec ses codes, ses personnages et ses histoires. La particularité de ce monde est que le tangible et l’imaginaire s’y entremêlent totalement. Le rêve et l’ordinaire se côtoient et souvent s’y confondent. Les secrets, les souvenirs d’enfance, la ville effervescente, le désir et ses pulsions sont les thèmes centraux de ce cinéma sans images.
« Pixelated Dream » est le premier album de WYSIWYG. On y suit Matt, un jeune homme lassé par la monotonie du quotidien et qui doit faire face à la réapparition de souvenirs douloureux trop vite enterrés. Les titres déclinent son errance à travers la ville au fil d’une voix parlée.
Aux frontières du rock, WYSIWYG distille une musique électrique, acoustique, lancinante et incisive.
