American born West Indian- 1982, in Rochester, NY, X-amount began recording at the age of 11. Heavily influenced by artists such as Bounty Killer, Frisco Kid, Ninja Man, & Busta Rhymes, he developed a strong lyrical foundation early in his career.
Barbadian & Jamaican cultural influences from close family and friends were responsible for cultivating his reggae personality. While shaping the character of X-amount, his father introduced him to the sounds of Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Linval Thompson, Steel Pulse, and Gregory Isaacs. Heeding the knowledge of Culture music and its message to end black oppression and mental slavery, he decided to touch upon similar topics.
Recording studios were created for personality, energy, creativity and most importantly- music without limitation.
