Xaphan was formed April 2008. The band members are Pete Keller(19), Trent Bowers (29), Nick Orth(17), Nate Kazman(17), and Trey Bowers (24). Xaphan has an "old school" Thrash sound. We have been consistently playing one to three paid shows a month since June 2008. Our debute EP "Bringing Back the Beast" was recorded by Canary Records in October 2008 and is now on sale in Wooden Nickel Record Stores here in Fort Wayne. It consists of our first 5 original songs. In the last 10 months, we have averaged more than 2500 hits on our page each month.
Things have EXPLODED for us in the last 10 months. Our shows have grown from small intimate venues like CS3's to the larger national stage of Piere's. We have played with local bands from Indiana and Ohio and have already played with national bands such as Mobile Death Camp (Member of GWAR), Ventana (Members of Mushroomhead), Bobaflex, Allyria, Fluwid and Hemlock. In addition, we enjoy doing charity shows with SAVE PERU at Hangar 18 in Peru, IN. In December 2008 our Charity Metal Fest was to help give support to local Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Peru. We also played a SAVE PERU show February 28, 2009 and July 25, 2009 which both benifited Prevent Child Abuse.
Xaphan is self-supported finacially. We have saved and reinvested all of our earnings from shows back into the band. This is how we have funded the recording and production of our EP and purchased merchandise such as T-shirts, buttons and stickers. Since we are a young and determined band, we are committed to our music and have the strong work ethic that it takes to endure.
