Anything mechanical or made of wood, knowledge, smiles. Being thankful for every opportunity to make a change for the better in this world and to witness the awesome spectacle that is the world around me, sitting in a chair doing nothing or drinking a coffee as I watch the waves and the sky and the birds and the peoples or feeling things come together as my knuckles throb from being rapped on something under the car just before I experience the joy of my efforts resulting in the successful completion of overcoming a challenge.
Music
Most of it except anything that is just crying or sucking the brain out of yer head.
Some of my favorites: Portishead, AC/DC, Alison Krauss, Godsmack, Pantera, Puddle of Mudd, Alan Jackson, Led Zeppelin, Blind Melon, Corrosion of Conformity, Six Feet Deep, Sarah Mclachlan, Ludacris, Fiona Apple, Fleetwood Mac, Outkast, Garbage, and the eclectic list goes on and on...
Movies
Usually if no one has heard of it then it is one of my favorites, such as Memento or Brotherhood of the Wolf. Napoleon Dynamite, The Princess Bride, Fight Club, and O Brother Where Art Thou? are a few that I have seen a hundred times and expect to see a hundred more. I love My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
Television
Scrubs, Mad TV, local news. I've recently developed quite an affinity for Two and a Half Men.
Books
The Christian Bible, the Tao Te Ching, most books about religion/spirituality, history, aminals, How to Win Friends and Influence People. Recently, after being introduced to it, I have really enjoyed Conversations with God.
Heroes
My ex-father-in-law. He is the father I never had and the most knowledgeable person I have ever met.

About me: ***I'm still learning. All is good as long as it's positive, from dark to bright.

I did 11+ years in the Navy, doing the best job in the world, as a Naval Officer fixing jets, for the last few years. Just as I was getting going, I had a motorcycle accident, which spun me around 180 degrees and set me in a different direction. Once I separated from active duty in the Navy, ---Censored by request---I came on down here to be available through their teenage years. Then, I can get back to my own selfish desires.

In the Navy and life in general, I was/am a fixer. I love to design, create, build, and fix.

I am, by no means, a professional mechanic. I am just someone who knows how to use a maintenance manual and has a strong desire to figure out what it takes to fix or make something better.

***Enjoy the pictures and the videos but be warned, while the pictures are G rated, the videos need to be viewed by an adult before you let kids watch them. (update: I just thunked o' supm, I don't mean the videos below, I mean the ones in my favorites, the ones below are PG) Some are just funny while others are a bit more 'adult content'.

Sweetie, you ain't been watching the weather out here then! We already had snow, three times. And have had a low of eight. Altho, back East means longer winters, so I guess I will stay put! How are you doing????
Seems to me you already do a lot "outside your own selfish self". But, Bangkok would be interesting, that is for sure. A long way from your kids tho.... How was your weekend?
Hello there stranger...so you want to be a teacher? That's awesome! If I can help, let me know, I am a professor iin the teacher prep program at the college. We sure need more amazing and dedicated teachers ;)
I love Lakeland too! :) I've been here most of my life. Great deal on the school thing, I hope you go for it. I've been thinking about going back to school myself, just not sure if I'm ready to really dedicate myself to it just yet. So we'll see, I guess it's a work in progress!
So is that a monkey? or a sloth? or some new hybrid?
Maybe when they grow up a bit John:) So, you are thinking of teaching esl huh? And overseas no less? What made you think of that? Kinda thought maybe you would be into teaching engineering, logic, stuff like that? Hope you are doing good. I have missed talking with you..
Do you remember Nikki the auditor from Speedway? He has a FB, if you can believe that. I didn't befriend him because I didn't think that he would remember me.
Too true. This week his assistant will be on leave, so , I imagine he is going to be one tired puppy. When he speaks of retirement now, there is a longing in his voice. We went to his squadron picnic yesterday. Lots of Loaders in this squadron, as it is Aircraft Maintenance. And, I wore my AMMO t shirt:) Such a little trouble maker I am:) Hope you have a wonderful Father's Day today!!! You deserve it!
Isnt' that the way it always goes? We have our plans, and life has its own set:) Hope you are doing well. Things are busy here. Jon just got assigned to a new squadron, with what appears to be a fair amount of trouble makers:) Big fun, NOT:)
