.... More Videos.... ...... It seems that Xavier V. Combs was born to be at the top of the bill. Just a few days old, he was christened on the stage of the Musical Hair. His father, Bill Combs, a black American soul singer, was playing the role of Hud in the Musical “HAIR”in the early 70’s. During the casting he met Xavier’s mother, an actress, dancer and model. All three posed on the front cover of the legendary magazine, “2O ans”, and Xavier was the baby symbolizing the mixed races of the future. Xavier, a Belgian American, born in France, has lived in London, America and Belgium. He has been marked by a number of relatives on his father’s side, a family carrying all the hallmarks of a musical dynasty. His cousin, Levi Seacer Jr, was PRINCE’s bass player for many years, and his aunt Dorothy Combs Morrison was the original singer of the worldwide gospel hit song “Oh Happy day”. He was destined to be a musician, in fact he has never considered anything else. Author, composer, guitarist, singer, he can also happily turn his hand to bass, keyboard and drums, a medley of talents that resemble those of an artist like Beck, but he willingly admits the guitar is his soul. Indeed, for a long time he was content to play guitar, first for a rock-fusion group Madjik and more recently playing with Christophe Mae. Like himself, his compositions are multi-racial, either French or English and flirting from rock to groove, to jazz and hip-hop. His presence on stage is as electric as his guitar, his voice, pure sensual energy. Xavier invites you into his haunting musical world and, once inside, a bewitching alchemy operates making you feel almost instantaneously at home. The key word to his new album is groove, even if his influences are planetary. There are 12 songs and just as many universes to discover.
