Formed in 2005, X-CONS is a band crossing the lines of Punk/Hardcore from the 90’s, such as bands like Pennywise, Strike Anywhere and Anti-Flag.
The band is formed by: João Leite (Vocals), João Carneiro (Drums), Nuno Santos ( Guitar and Back Vocals), João Santos ( Bass and Back Vocals) and José Pereira (Guitar).
In June of 2005 started playing in national stages and recorded their first EP “When will they fall?”, four anthems full of anger against social and political system, with a positive message. It was this, the melody and the intensive lyrics that gave X-CONS excellent reviews in national and international websites from the Punk/Hardcore scene.
By that time, the band travelled across the country making some shows, including some festivals, and sharing the stage with bands such as: Mata-Ratos (Pt), Anger (It) and The Undeclinables (De).
It was in the end of this tour that the band focused their strength in recording their first LP “PRIDE OF THE FREE”. This work was the result of months of investment, keeping the attitude since the beginning: a social and political critic and a wake up call with a direct message, full of hope.
PRIDE OF THE FREE sees the light of day in May 2008 within the label of Infected Records (Pt), DVS Records (Fr) and Record Rebellion (UK).
During the promotion of this LP the band toured across the country, from North to South, sharing the Stages with bands such as Strike Anywhere (EUA) and The Unseen (EUA).
