This is just a snippet of why Xcursion's fans consider him to be one of the best independent rappers in the Midwest.
Donte "Xcursion" Feaster was born in Elizabeth Park here in North Akron. Ever since he was young, he has followed and witnessed many independent rappers such as Felony 1, Chino Nino, Ampichino, and many others build an extensive stature for themselves. While learning from them, he became known for his unique voice, and lyrics that many Akronites are able to relate to as the city goes through various transitions. His uniqueness eventually led to him being able to collab with Felony 1 on two mixtapes, and they are expecting to release their third mixtape very soon.
As a child, Xcursion has lived in various environments which is the basis of his music. As an adult; he expresses his thoughts about the many issues that not only affect Hip-Hop and music as a whole, but everyone else around him. His songs have touched the young and the old alike, due to his strong messages about how to survive in a city that is going under.
By the age of 22, Xcursion was not only recognized for his ability to write his own lyrics but also for freestyling, rap battles, and engineering abilities. He has been featured on and released several mixtapes that were recorded at his home studio including: Jamaican Breeze feat. Felony 1 and hosted by Reek Da Freak (2007), Nobody's Safe feat. Felony 1 (2008), Done Deal hosted by DJ Locnez (2008), 3 Gunz Up feat. Young Haze and Nardi Cool hosted by Xcursion (2006), Black Market (2005). He has performed at various clubs and bars in the Akron, Kent, and Cleveland area, and has opened for the well known underground artist Tech N9ne. He is currently recording his debut album Underboss along with a solo mixtape entitled The Remix Project.
As Xcursion fans follow him in his musical journey, they saw him transition from a young artist to an influential musician standing strong in his love for Hip-Hop. As stated by one of the people he followed "Rap is something you do, Hip-Hop is something you live". This is one rule he takes to heart. In Xcursion's words, "Depressing how the world can take your mind from the pureness of his childhood days to a more jaded, cynical, and hateful frame. In our own way, we're all the products and catalysts of the environment we grow into help to build and amend, and with that said; while I'm making my changes to my world don't speak on my methods.
