Movies
Oh so many. Star Wars (Original trilogy was my childhood. The new prequels make something inside me die), Star Trek (except for the crapfest "Generations"), Natural Born Killers, The Crow, Aliens, Payback, Fear and Loathing Las Vegas, Riddick (all 3), Boondock Saints, Talladega Nights, Serenity, Equilibrium, The 5th Element, 300, Shaun of the Dead, Pan's Labyrinth, Leon, Night Watch/Day Watch, Grosse Pointe Blank, Princess Bride, comic book movies, Bruce Campbell, most Kevin Smith, Clint Eastwood westerns, vampire flicks, and anything where the future's something like Blade Runner. I'll give most flicks a chance.
I also dig the History Channel, BBCA, Discovery, Food Network, TLC, The Daily Show/Colbert Report, Invader ZIM, Dr Who, Torchwood, and Battlestar Galactica (the new versions), Anthony Bourdain, Heroes, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Hotel Babylon, Flip This House, Kitchen Nightmares, and Little/People Big World. If old, canceled series count
Books
I should fill this with really smart sounding books. Instead I'll just make a time line.
In high school it was horror stories. Koontz, King, Lovecraft, etc. -*- In college is was philosophy related. Authors like Camus and Sarte. -*- Then for a few years is was all vampires and the like. Anne Rice and Poppy Z Brite. -*- For a few years I really didn't read anything longer than a short story. -*- A couple of years ago I started reading Star Wars novels. I've read all of the SW novels and tech manuals, so now I'm working on collecting/reading all the SW graphic novels. -*- Now I'm waiting for the next book in the "Legacy of the Force" series and will be until the series finally ends next year. Most recent reads (aside from Star Wars) include the Night Watch (3 of 4), a few Wolverine novels, To Reign in Hell, Dune series, Hitchhiker's Guide Trilogy, Kitchen Confidential, Starship Troopers, Ender's Game series, The Historian, Survivor, and several of Neil Gaiman's books.
Heroes
Corran Horn. CorSec, hiding from the Empire by working for an Imperial governor, Rebel, Rogue Squadron, escaping from Isaard, Jedi, loving husband and father. The dude should be everyone's hero!(Was that geeky enough?)<

About me: I'm a geek. No really, I am. I dig the darker side of just about anything, though I do try to keep a good sense of humor about everything. Laid back most of the time too.
Vampirate?
Who I'd like to meet: Someone who can handle being around me for extended periods of time and not plot to kill me in my sleep (or at least be creative about it). Also someone who can dish all the smartass and off color crap I say right back at me. And intelligent. That's important. Fellow geeks.
But I'm ok with being a solitary man.
