XEMILLA
Musica del Nuevo Mundo
Xemilla is music of the earth, made for its people. It is a new breed of sound that mixes indigenous beats with the folk songs of faraway lands. Their roots are planted firmly in colombiano, reggae, blues, cumbia, rock, and more. Their lyrics speak of love, movement, and change.
Xemilla's live shows reveal a group of young musicians schooled in jazz and seasoned in street performance, who are at once precise in their playing and daring in their improvisations. This four piece collective represents over 50 years of experience on the Texas music scene. Their creation of fresh, artful sound can best be described as neo world music or musica del nuevo mundo.
Members of Xemilla include: Francisco Villamizar on lead vocals and guitar; Cuauhtli Reina on percussion, cuatro and vocals; Joaquin Abrego on percussion and vocals; and Pablo Mancias on bass and vocals.
Xemilla means "seed," a symbol of strength and new life, full of hope and possibility.
..
Respect Xemilla, continued success with your music. When you get a chance you should come back to my page and checkout the song on my music player I produced dedicated to the herb called "Lytro" by music artist NP The Truth feat. Luv Fyah, Bagett.
