Recognized as readers choice for Outstanding Folk Band
for the 2000, 2001 and 2003 in the Sacramento Area
Music Awards, Xenophilia has been performing for over
ten years. The word "xenophilia" means love of the
strange or the appreciation of the unusual. Xenophilia
is an antidote, if you will, to xenoPHOBIA, "the fear
of foreigners."
Xenophilia’s unique folk pop has a broad appeal as
evidenced by the band’s long gig history: a wrestling
match, a burlesque show, football VIP parties, bars,
road houses, college parties, a foot race, cable TV,
coffee shops, comedy shows, open mic nights and music
festivals. They continue to play both large and small
shows surprising audiences with interesting songs and
energetic vocal harmony.
Join AlanisCROW at Swabbies THIS Saturday, October 4th **Rain or Shine! If it looks like rain we're taking the party indoors - it's all good. Music starts at 5:00 with a very special opening set of Sting & Steely Dan music!
Xeno: Hope you guys are tearing it up in Sac Town. Let us know when you hit San Diego and LA next and we'll book some shows with you guys down here! Have an amazing week!
It's simple (seriously) - and it's free! The key SacLights difference is that we’re 100% local. Your local audience can now easily find and listen to your latest work, then go to your next show.
Just register as anyone else would, set your display name to your band name, then:
∙ Post your music, videos, show listings, show fliers, pictures ∙ Have your tracks in the site-wide radio player of local musicians with links to your band’s profile ∙ Find, listen, and message other local musicians ∙ Notify 'friends' of upcoming shows ∙ Keep a blog ∙ It's also easy to link to your myspace, lastfm or other websites.
From now through most of February your registration also gets you a chance to win an iPhone, so stop reading and register, ya dig?! ..
I wanted to thank you guys again for playing at Heartfest. You were great and I didn't know until Heartfest that I was already a huge fan... Loving the clone song!!!
Hey there, roomie! I just wanted to wish you good luck with your performance tonight...I'm sending you good musical vibes...even though I'm pretty sure I'm tone deaf! Well, I'll see you later...oh, I turned the light on outside for you so it's not so scary when you come home :)
We're a solid go for october 19th at Constable Jack's. Xenophilia at 8:30 - alanisCROW at 9:30. We're looking forward to sharing the stage with you guys. Gonna Rock!
