Let's see - about me... I'm an animal nut who works at the Humane Society. Lots of people ask me if it's a tough job - it is but we have our good days and our bad, like any other job I guess.
I love my job - most of the time I come home feeling like I've made a little bit of a difference - I love days that are filled with pet adoptions and animals being returned to their owners. Some things I really don't like about my job are people who don't spay or neuter their animals and people who just don't take very good care of their pets. I can get pretty worked up about it.
A huge perk is that sometimes I get to take animals home to foster them for awhile - if they're sick or in need of socialization. So I usually have a few fosters, then I have two cats and my roommate has two cats - so our apartment is full of cats. I'm currently fostering a cat/kitten named Pantera and I'm pretty sure I will be adopting her - she's a little "special" and might not fit in another home very well.
I also recently adopted a dog that I had been fostering for about 8 months. She's a Yorkshire Terrier mix named Princess Sophia (How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days anyone? LOL). She was seized from a neglectful home that had 89 little dogs just like her. Because many of the dogs were pregnant, my shelter ended up with a total of 109 of them. Since the court case was pending, I could only foster her but the case was finally settled and I was able to adopt her on January 19th :)
Lots of people ask me what I do in my free time. I don't really have a lot of free time at the moment, but I'm really into reading. I had stopped reading for a LONG time (except for the occasional Harry Potter book) until I read Twilight by Stephenie Meyer in Dec of 2005. Now I read a lot of young adult and paranormal romance (mostly vampire related). In the time that I wasn't reading much, I was movie obsessed (but working for four different video store chains will do that to you) and I have what some have described as an encyclopedic knowledge of film. I'm really not bragging, I can't help that I just remember completely useless information and then sometimes can't remember my own name
