I am a strong supporter of the second amendment.
I love MUSIC. I always welcome new musicians to ask for a friend request because I love finding new music that I like. I don't discriminate according to genre; if the music moves me, I'll listen to it. So, don't be shy about asking for a friend request.
I also love to sing. I've been singing since I was a very small child. I remember listening to musicians like Michael Jackson, Bonnie Tyler, Bon Jovi, Sue Thompson, Cyndi Lauper and Elton John on the radio and singing right along as soon as I learned to speak. I rarely have the nerve to sing around other people. My uncles are singers and my great grandmother was a terrific singer and songwriter. Music is medicine.
I'm amazed by vintage costume jewelry for so many reasons; one being the uniqueness of the pieces. I love designers like Trifari, Coro, Lisner and Miriam Haskell to name a few. Besides collecting costume jewelry, I make my own jewelry and I'm also into beadweaving.
Another obsession that I have is BOOKS. I have nearly a thousand of them in my living room alone. I especially enjoy vintage and antique books. The oldest book in my collection is 161 years old.
I believe that knowledge is power and much of our knowledge can be gained by reading books. In the day and age of the internet and television, books are often ignored and left to rot on the shelves. My great grandmother once said that the best way to kill a book is to leave it to rot on a shelf; to not pick it up and let it collect dust. I prefer to keep them alive and they keep my brain alive in return.
In high school, I had a teacher who asked the class how much television they watched on a weekly basis. Everyone else had relatively high numbers. When the teacher asked for my number, I told him that I only watch about 10 hours worth of television in a week. He mocked me infront of the classroom, saying that I was lying. I told him that I was serious. He said, "Well, what do you do then?" I said, "I READ." I heard someone say, "Oh, we have a reader" in a very sarcastic manner. The teacher upped my number to 20 and I was pissed. Is it that hard to believe in this day and age that people don't watch that much television? I practically went through all of the year 2004 without television. In my childhood, I often didn't have electricity so I read and catalogued books instead. It's pretty bad when someone makes fun of you because you like to read - especially when it's a teacher.
I don't really watch a whole lot of television since I spend so much time reading and typing reference books for fun. However, I do watch the following shows whenever possible:
