Mark Phillips first found the love of electronic dance music back in 2002, when by chance he stumbled upon the artist Lange. From then he was hooked and through the mixing powers of DJ GT and Project C he discovered what he had been looking for in music all along.
Trance combines so many different feelings that other music doesn't satisfy for me. It perfectly blends feeling and emotion with beats and melodies that really wouldn't fit rock or any other genre the way in which I would like it to. Perfect examples of what got me into trance are Riders in the Sky by Solicitious, Drifting Away by Lange, and Satellite by Oceanlab. My interests and what I play have spread much wider since, but the trance and feeling of those songs captures what I feel trance is all about
As far as genre, Vocal trance, breakbeats, some DnB, electro, and house are all enjoyed and from time to time mixed, but I do stick to what I enjoy. I definitely mix it up and can figure out what is best for any given situation.
