Sounds Like
A riotous explosion of evolving sonic textures, broken by intricately weaved harmonies and alien melodies. Music made for films that havn't been written yet.
Xij is a composer, songwriter, musician and the director at www.xijindustries.com, a music production, education and publishing company.
Xij's musical journey began in earnest at age 11, when given piano lessons he didn’t really want to attend. A terrible student, he promptly forgot everything taught to him, more content to pick out melodies of songs he wanted to learn instead.
At age 15 he decided to learn the bagpipes. He was informed that this was not allowed. Grudglingly, guitar lessons where accepted as a compromise. Many years and failed thrash metal bands later, he decided to strike out on his own, after discovering what could be done with music software and some patience.
After gradual exposure to more and more varieties of music, and a night of deep contemplation on what to do with the rest of his life, he decided to seriously pursue composing and songwriting.
Exploratory by nature, he enjoys musical and sonic experimentation: tuning, timing, harmonies, all are sacred cows to be slaughtered in many different ways. This is has resulted in a very large catalogue of unreleased sonic experiments and sound designs, some good, some bad, some downright terrifying.
Though not yet well known Xij has large plans and a hunger to establish himself, and contribute to the evolution of the world’s music.
Drawing his inspiration from the collected sounds and cultural output of humanity, Xij creates a style of music quite familiar yet all his own.
