Morris Anthony Ximines grew up listening to the likes of the Jackson 5,
James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Quincy Jones and other major soul giants.
His main musical influence though was found a little closer to home in the form of his father, who had played both guitar and drums in various bands and whose love for music was very influential on Morris.
Whilst studying Illustration in Cambridge, Morris met Del Dawn through some mutual friends and they began to jam together in a band called the Ascension with Del on drums and Morris on vocals.
The talent of The Doors, Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush were highly influential on the duos initial song writing efforts. Nigel Agger was also met during this period and it was here that the foundation of Ximinez was cemented.
Recent addition to the band has been in the form of Dave Lowe a multitalented musician and songwriter himself, reinforcing and helping to sculpt the ever-increasing talent that is Ximinez
Thanks so much for playin last night. Sorry didn't get much chance to chat. Really enjoyed hearing you... your songs seem to sound genuinely different and always have. not sure if it's the words, or melodies or chords, but something always seems to resonate with me.
I'm so glad we put on a night if it means you can come and perform.

you guys were great! the acoustic set was lovely, got a chance to listen to your exceptional guitar skillz Del, lovely thoughtful compostions and riff ideas, Morris was charismatic as ever - smooth - never seen Ximinez in a band format - look forward to it.
Ah...Lovely Del!!
Of course we'ed love to come down and play. We're pretty busy with E.P's and "Bev's Kitchen" at the moment, but maybe we could do something next month. Speaking of which, how do fancy a swap? You and Mo could come do a set at my Kitchen and I'll come do a set at yours?!
My next one is on the 7th of May if you fancy it?
Big Kiss
