SECOND COMBAT / MOTIVATION - split CD
The art for this CD features a monkey , a rhino , a rabbit , a bird , a lion , a deer and an ox X'ed up, dressed in youth crew gear ( shorts , hoodies with Xs on them , varsity jackets ) and playing hardcore.Awesome.That,along with the message on the back of the CD stating that it is "dedicated to the straight edge and vegetarian lifestyle", really sets the stage for the music. SECOND COMBAT has been around for years now, and they have definitely perfected their energetic,circle-pitting,sing-along-friendly sXe hardcore. And check out some of the lyrics: " I was sitting on the bench when the officer comes / To arrest me and my friends because of having a good time / We're come for the music and give it a chance / Not waiting for the businessmen to tear us apart / Assuming we're metal and were drink a goat blood / The kids were clean with no drug and drinking at all." Fucking A-plus.MOTIVATION was unfamiliar to me before this, but I'll definitely keep an eye on them from now on.They also play sXe hardcore in the youth crew vein, but faster and less melodic than SECOND COMBAT, just in-your-face hardcore energy.
