In 2007 two music industry entities will combine forces to create the ULTIMATE Band Competition for Newcastle and the Hunter Region RESONATE- The Music Industry Showcase. RESONATE will see Xpozay - The Band Competition & the Newcastle Music Week Industry Showcase unite. Queen's Wharf Brewery will be the perfect venue – add to that an ultimate first prize, support from local media, professional organisers and fantastic original players and we can't help but attract interest from the National Music Industry. ********************************************************************************************************************** RESONATE is presented by Coca-Cola and sponsored by EAO Entertainment, TAFE NSW Hunter Institute & The Brewery. It will be our biggest opportunity to Showcase the local music industry. Entries are now open and will close on July 1. The Brewery will host 9 heats and two semi finals for RESONATE, with heats beginning on Thursday 2nd August 2007. The Grand Finale will be showcased at the Civic Theatre on Friday 2nd November. Winners walk away having played at the Civic Theatre Newcastle, performed to Music Industry professionals from top indie labels, agencies and management companies and with prizes valued at over $20,000! Stay tuned for the list of the prizes up for grabs soon…… ********************************************************************************************************************** RESONATE will provide local original musicians with the opportunity to showcase their talents to live audiences, with first class performance conditions and will provide the perfect launch pad to further their musical careers. If you are a professional or amateur original band and don't have a contract with, or receive financial assistance from a major record company – get your entries in now. All band members must be over 18 years and must reside in the Newcastle and Hunter Region. ********************************************************************************************************************** Bands will have their demos heard in the first selection process by a panel of industry professionals, including Heath Johns (Universal Music Publishing), Scott Bradbury (Shock Records) and Hayley Wilson (Roadrunner Records). Bands selected will then perform at The Brewery. ********************************************************************************************************************** Newcastle has become land marked in the music industry for breeding high quality musical sensations ie The Screaming Jets, Machine Gun Fellatio, Silverchair and many more. RESONATE will continue this tradition and give budding local muso's the platform they need to make it! ********************************************************************************************************************** Entries are now open.
