   About X-Rated Cowboys
COLUMBUS, OHIO: Loaded to the brim with guitars, accordions, guitars, keyboards, drums, and guitars, the X-Rated Cowboys deliver on their third album. Released on the band¹s own FFN Records label, the self-titled disc once again features Dan Baird (Georgia Satellites, Yayhoos) as the producer and is filled with more songs of loves lost, sorrows drowned, and lives left behind. And did we mention the guitars? The X-Rated Cowboys are Quinn Fallon (vocals, acoustic guitar, and songwriting), Andy Harrison, (electric guitar), Chris Skrobot (electric guitar), Bob Hite (keyboards, accordion), and C. Douglas Wells (drums). Bass duties were handled by Joe Oestreich (Watershed), Phil Maneri (Scott Gorsuch band), and Baird. The latest album follows Honor Among Thieves and Saddest Day of the Year which enjoyed critical praise in magazines and websites from around the globe as well as airplay from a number of radio specialty shows including broadcasts across Europe. The result has been thousands of CDs sold world-wide. Critics have compared the band to a wide-range of artists including Elvis Costello, The Replacements, John Wesley Harding, Tom Petty, and Bruce Springsteen. They have called the band¹s sound pub-rock, roots-rock, twang-pop, and a host of other hyphenated adjectives. One recent review said: ³The new album continues where Saddest left off, melding pop hooks with light touches of guitar crunch to accent Fallon¹s penchant for tear-in-a-beer lyricism. If anything, the album is more contemplative, with Fallon ruminating on abandoned dreams (³Passenger Window,² ³Just Past the Headlights²) and the choice of playing in bars for a living (³$100 Guitar²). He attributes this to simply writing about what he knows, which includes running the bar he co-owns.² Listeners will also certainly want to stick around for the not-easy-to-categorize ³hidden track² that closes the disc. Long a staple of the band¹s live show, the song will elicit a knowing smile to accompany the tapping toe and bobbing head. Performance history X-Rated Cowboys have been a mainstay on the Columbus music scene for more than five years. Their last two CD release shows at Promowest Pavillion enjoyed a combined attendence of more than 2,000 fans. The Cowboys have been lucky enough to grace the stage at PromoWest more than a dozen times and have helped organize and schedule all the benefit shows for the CD-101 For the Kids benefit shows that have taken place there. The band has also had the honor of performing at several other clubs across Columbus, the state, and the Midwest as well a number of events across Columbus including the annual Community Festival and the Red, White and Boom celebration. The Cowboys have also shared the stage with several nationally-recognized acts including Cake, Tenacious D, O.A.R., Toby Keith, Sheryl Crow, Blue October, and Dave Pirner of Soul Asylum who joined them onstage for a cover of a Replacements song. REVIEWS: The third release from Columbus, Ohios X-Rated Cowboys packs a rootsy punch in most places, and continues to offer, as with their previous releases, a fine collection of twang-tinged pop rock. Deceiving is the lead off track, ³Passenger Window², which recalls the folksier side of John Wesley Harding. And curiously, but fittingly, the album closer, ³Happy Hour², comes close to Costellos King Of America style of country pop. But its the hidden track (at the albums true end) thats really telling of this records nature as they cleverly incorporate Lynyrd Skynyrds easily recognizable lick from ³Sweet Home Alabama² into some heavy Southern rock, X-Rated Cowboy style. Singer/songwriter/guitarist Quinn Fallon urges a little more ³bitter and bite² from his vocal delivery, and the guitars get a workout in this rockin set that keeps offering one great tune after another. - Miles of Music ³What the X-Rated Cowboys might be, however, is the best purveyor of Americana music you haven¹t heard of yet.² ‹ Bill Holmes, Cosmik Debris Singer/songwriter/guitarist Quinn Fallon urges a little more ³bitter and bite² from his vocal delivery, and the guitars get a workout in this rockin set that keeps offering one great tune after another. ‹ Miles of Music

Wow. I won't even spam ... but the opening riff to "Low Self Esteem" is my custom made ringtone I use to annoy my coworkers.

Cause that's how I roll.
