xsisterhoodx.com is a webzine and community devoted to the ladies of straight edge and/or hardcore. We feature reviews, articles, interviews, commentary, giveaways and more. Our community is fueled by personal profiles, a messaging system, and message boards.

Our Mission xsisterhoodx strives to be a positive force in a scene divided. Our goal is to create balance and eliminate the biases which exist in today's global scene. As a community we encourage and support positive discussion and involvement without the negativity and posturing often found on the web. We stand against violence and elitism and do not tolerate bigotry, racism, sexism, or discrimination in any form.

xsisterhoodx is about forging connections. It’s about creating a positive dialog and making people aware that their views and way of life are shared by many, and that they are not alone. The Community for Hardcore Girls, Straightedge Girls, Straightedge Hardcore Girls, & the people that support us.

A Little History
The year was 1995; the internet was just starting to be embraced by the DIY community. Armed with my 486 and a lot of questions I ventured out into the World Wide Web in search of other straight edge girls. I found site after site about straightedge, but all written for, by, and about boys. I was disillusioned and frustrated. I was just about to give up when I came across a one page website hosted by tripod. It was a page about a discussion list called xsisterhoodx®. I joined and within a day I was connected to three hundred girls and women of the straightedge persuasion. Daily I would read their stories filled with fear, empowerment, frustration, and strength.

By 1996 the moderator and creator of the list decided she did not want to do it anymore and passed it on to me. Since then I have worked on making xsisterhoodx.com a resource which supports the ladies of hardcore and straightedge. Though articles, forums, and open communication I am attempting to build a positive community and support system.
