Synergy began in 2005 after both Frankie and Esteban had the bitter taste of the break up of DEFT (their previous band). They got together and decided to make something better, different, and new. Synergy was born with the thought in mind of Esteban and Frankie working together as a duo. Their first show was at a coffeshop called Mugshots. Afterwards, their music began attracting more attention. The two decided to invite Samit Patel (a snare on the Mac Drumline) as their drummer, since Frankie had previously played with him before in the Macarthur Jazz Band. Ryan Strand (guitarist in the Mac M5 band) was soon added, thus completing the band you know as Synergy.
