This is the "official" homepage of XTRA XTRA - the project of Chris Seidel. I play bass since my entry in a band called "NARCOTIC", or let me say, I used the instrument as a kind of guitar. So, this is some years ago and my "learning by doing" was kindly supported by several bands and one year of bass lessons.
I really started to learn bass with my first fretless and the electric upight - my neighbours just tolerated my kids, but not a real double bass. So, after using tis interesting sticks firstly, I just bought my first real DB . what a difference and fun. Within this development, I am playing guitar as often as possible
What you are now listening to is the result of my own ideas; some are songs, which didn..t work in a band. I really like the chance of ABLETON and the Groove Agent - so I..m independent of a band.

England 1981. Punk war endgültig tot, da überschwemmte schon die nächste Musikwelle die Insel. Post-Punk hieß das Gebot der Stunde und einer der Vorreiter waren The Chameleons.
THE CHAMELEONS waren eine englische Rockband aus dem Umfeld des Post-Punk. The Chameleons wurden 1981 in Middleton/Greater Manchester (England) gegründet. Im Gegensatz zu artverwandten Bands wie U2, Joy Division, Psychedelic Furs oder Echo & The Bunnymen gelang ihnen mit ihren düster-melancholischen, von verhallten Doppel-Gitarren dominierten Songs kein nennenswerter kommerzieller Durchbruch. Dennoch wird ihr 1983er Album-Debüt Script of the Bridge heute zu den wichtigsten Platten des Post-Punk gerechnet. Heute berufen sich Bands wie etwa Interpol oder die Editors auf The Chameleons.
