Dear X-Treme Warriors: Thank you for making history with us! As Leona and Rania
and I sit back and reflect on the first season of X-Treme Warrior we can't help
but smile at the many memories you have left us. When we started this process
almost two years ago, we never imagined that a cast of strangers could prove so
strong. You made a positive impact on our lives and I can only hope that the finished
series will impress you as much as you have impressed us. We hope that you are
proud to be part of X-Treme Warrior and proud that the impact you made on us will
soon be reflected back to another cast of strangers -- the television viewing
audience. We are confident that you will move them and amaze them with your feats
of strength, endurance and courage. We believe that you will inspire viewers to
be confident and learn to deal with everything that life throws at them, knowing
that in the end, it really is all mental. Thank you and congratulations on a job
very well done! Omar Akl Click

X-Treme Warrior is a new breed of television reality series that brings out the best in human nature. Watching X-Treme Warrior can motivate you to
become extreme in everything you do! The story behind the series is an example of how that happens…
The show was first conceived by personal trainer and world military boxing champion, Omar Akl. Omar came to the US in 2000 and spent much of that
first year sleeping in a sleeping bag on the cold gym floor he cleaned to help pay for his room and board. Most people would have quit and gone
home, but not Omar. He never felt sorry for himself. Omar looked at his situation as an opportunity, realizing he could get through anything he put
his mind to. He was right, by 2003, he started his own company.
Omar's Planet was a small company specializing in boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai training. Working out of a gym in West Bloomfield , Michigan ,
Omar wanted to give his personal training clients more of a challenge. With the help of company vice-president and Emmy-award winning television
news producer, Leona Larson, Omar took groups of male and female clients on intensive fitness weekends throughout Michigan . The event was simply
called “Weekend Boot Camp.”
“Weekend Boot Camp” was a tremendous success, helping clients go beyond their own personal expectations by using physical fitness to break down the
mental barriers that prevent success. It's that little voice in your head that says “ I can't. ” In just three days, Omar can teach you how to
train that little voice to go from “ I can't ” to “ I can .”
In 2005, we changed the name of the event to X-Treme Warrior and decided to bring it to television. With Leona as Executive Producer, X-Treme Warrior hired the best people in television, like Todd Stanley of Boil Line Productions and his brother Doug Stanley, best known for their work on Discovery's number one hit Deadliest Catch .
RW Productions along with Emmy-award winner Byron Goggin, of Your Next Wild Weekend are also an important part of the X-Treme Warrior team.
Turning our dream into reality has taken almost 2-years of hard work to stay confident, positive and patient. But then again that's no surprise, on
Omar's Planet the little voices in our heads remind us each and everyday that “ we can. ”
What happens when ordinary women go on a weekend-fitness get-away with friends? Housewives, students, professional women, sisters, along with the-girl-next-door think they're going for fun, exercise and a bit of adventure, but each participant comes home with so much more.
Pushed to challenge their physical and mental endurance to the extreme by Omar Akl, a real hardcore military boxing and kickboxing trainer, emotions soar and tempers fly as each women learns what it means to achieve their own personal best by breaking down the mental barriers that bind her.
Each episode is one 3-day event held in a different exciting location, with new contestants facing new challenges. Three categories help determine which one will be chosen "X-Treme Warrior" and move on to the final round. Divided into two teams and into pairs they perform physical challenges to judge individual, partner and team performances.
But the winner of each episode is determined by more than just her physical abilities. She is not necessarily the fastest, the strongest or the cleverest. She isn't picked by a time clock, Omar, a panel of judges or viewers. The winner of each episode is chosen by her team to represent them in the final round and a chance to win cash and prizes for all of them!
In the season finale, the winner of the previous episodes compete for the title of “X-Treme Warrior Champion” and a chance to win a jackpot for her and her team. It's the reality series where nobody loses and everybody wins!
