oh...you didn't miss much. i just said that we went backstage and to their dressing room. while drinking their wine and beer, chatting with isaac and stuff, we looked around and heath ledger was chillin' down there too so we said hi to him. lol...i guess he likes the band.
meg, i wrote a huge blog about it but so you don't have to read it, i just copied it here lol.
this is the story of how i met modest mouse. and watched the show in chicago backstage.
okay, so i was pretty excited for the modest mouse show in minneapolis. when we got there, the show was CANCELED! GAH!
we drove nine hours to see them. and now, no show. eric the bass player was sick. boo!
well, since we had just gotten out of the car, we decided to stretch a bit. as we walked around the block, who should we see but mr. isaac brock. the lead singer of modest mouse.
"hey isaac!" "yeah?"...we conversed with him for a few minutes. very apologetically, he confirmed the no-show-that-night. and also, we met one of the opening bands, Love as Laughter from brooklyn. they empathized with us and our long drive with nothing to talk about. and, then invited us all to hang out with them. sure man, why not? we're doing nothing anyway right?
as it turns out, the topic of the chicago show came up. it was sunday and we were to be heading home through chicago.
the guitar tech for isaac, brian, offered to get us tickets to that show if we wanted to go. well, naturally, we wanted to go. THEN, Love as Laughter said they'd get us backstage passes! well, sure. that works..i was a bit skeptical though.
we got to chicago and sure enough. our tickets were waiting. SWEET! and then, after Love as Laughter's set, we just walked backstage with them about five minutes before modest mouse's set. i watched the entire set backstage next to johnny's guitar tech! pretty sweet man.
AND THEN, a bunch of people stage-dived so me and the guitar tech ran to the front of stage 'cause security wasn't very fast! GAH! we didn't have to anything 'cause they got there in time but it was sweet to be actually out on the stage!
it doesn't stop there!
so, after the show, we all went down to the dressing rooms to hang out wi
