"XXRUB is an active volcano ready to erupt in all directions. They write songs as colossal as Mount Everest and as deep and grand as the Grand Canyon. The songs are captivating, enduring, and timeless. As passionate admirers of diverse musical genres, they've taken on stadium-sized sounds with their latest album. "A Never Ending Walk", XXRUB's latest offering due out in early summer of 2009, paints with all the colors of rock and soul. Songs range from a Brian Eno-inspired ambient tune (The Sunrise) to a Morrocan feel, jazz-infused groove (When The World Was Flat), from a Black Sabbath/Slipknot hard rocker (Maybe) to a bluesy/pop number (Let Me Take U), from reggae dub/ska story-telling quirkiness (The Girl) to a gospel intro with an eighties groove (Love Is Raining), a Beatlesque tribute (Tonight?), and definitely a Bo Didley riff like no other (Daydreamer). The title track is basically a "dream" put into a song. Some songs have some very serious undertones, yet XXRUB never takes itself too seriously! Wide ranging are their rock influences, from icons like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Brian Eno, Pink Floyd, Queen, The Clash, Hendrix, Bob Marley, U2, and Bo Diddley...God rest his soul. All are remarkably ever present in this project. Song topics include: the possible apocalyptic year of 2012, love on the brink of salvation, suicide, anti-suicide, the past's innocence, philosophy/theology/history, a daydreaming high schooler, sin city, more love on the brink, and of course, man's incapacity to learn his lessons."
