Hello and welcome to my life. I remember it like it was yesterday, being a fetus was AWESOME! But then I was born and that’s where my problems began. My mom said I was born 40 because I looked like I was thinking really complex thoughts, and I think that was pretty accurate. While all the other babies were peeing and pooping in their diapers, I was too. But while soiling myself, I began my plans for domination of the radio industry.
Flash forward to 1997. I was freshman in art school, spending my days spinning pottery on the wheel. It’s something I’m pretty good at but I started realizing that I would never be able to make much of a living at it, so I decided it was time to get into a new career that would also keep me in the poorhouse...radio. Not that I knew anything about radio at the time, but I guess the folks at Y100 figured me for a quick learner because they hired me as an intern, and they regreted it for years because like a tick, once I’ve latched on to something, it’s stuck with me til I’ve sucked it dry.
I stayed at Y100 for almost 8 years doing airshifts, promotions, production, webdesign, and a little bit of everything else until, well, I guess I did suck it dry because we got kicked off the air! That sucked. But I wasn't about to let the spirit of Y100 die! On February 24th, 2005, the same day that Y100 went off the airwaves, I joined up with Jim McGuinn to start Y100Rocks.com, which has become Y-Rock On XPN.
Outside of my Y-Rock On XPN life...wait, do you hear crickets? No, wait a minute, I'm not that boring. I have a Golden Retriever named Samantha (i'll put up some pictures of her later). I like movies about superheroes. I probably watch too much TV, but there really is a lot of quality programming out there. I'm recollecting the toys that I threw out when I got "too old" for toys (turned out that was just a phase of false maturity that I was going through). I like to eat fine cuisine, although it doesn't show on me...believe it or not, I can pack it in when I'm hungry...good metabolism. I am a man of few vices, but I do love to gamble! I hate folding laundry as evidenced by the 4 foot high pile of t-shirts on my chair. I have a beard because shaving is annoying. That's enough about me for now.
Oh, and if you want to e-mail me, just send it to josh@yrockonxpn.org. None of this MySpace messaging b.s. I promise that I will never check MySpace messages, but I will check my e-mail many times a day.
Who I'd like to meet: Not Frankenstein! That guy's got bolts in his neck! If he can take that sort of pain, how could I ever expect to hold my own against him?

We would appreciate anyone who becomes a friend of Dawn and helps with getting the word out about her upcoming video release of How We Die. This was the last song Dawn recorded prior to losing her battle with Cancer on March 28, 2007
Dawn’s twin sister Sherrie accepts The Geri Lester Heroes of Breast Cancer Courage Award – In Memory from the Karmanos Cancer Institute on Dawn’s behalf in the video recorded on October 22, 2007.
You can view this award presentation on Dawn's MySpace page.
'Siamese Dream' was one of those forward and backward, up and down albums in my life - an album I thoroughly abused my listening privileges to if that's even possible. Anywhos, upon reading your awesome review, I'd like to give the Pumps another go and try to keep my mind open. It was also nice to get a recap of the band's history, as I've let them go for so long now.
Also, I don't get to listen to Yrock too often, but I'm glad I listened to tonight's show.
This show is going to be huge! Be sure to get your discounted tickets at http://ikeonline.net before they sell out! :)
