The Mavericks are a minor league football team based in Yakima Washington. The Mavs were established in 2004 and are members of the EFL (Evergreen Football league). This team gives players a chance go continue to play the best game ever invented. No player on the team is paid in order to keep their college eligibility. 2008 tryouts are January 12th. About me: The Mavs fought hard all season and ended up #2 when we lost to the Blu Mtn. Stars in the EFL championship. We are now in the off season and will be back just in time for tryouts in mid January.

Indoor football is coming back to the SunDome this March for a preseason arenafootball2 game that will serve as an "open house" to potential new investors interested in bringing a franchise to Yakima.
The Spokane Shock will play the Amarillo (Texas) Dusters on March 20, Brady Nelson, the majority owner of the Shock, said Tuesday. Greg Lybeck, assistant general manager for State Fair Park, confirmed the Shock signed a lease to hold its preseason af2 game in the SunDome. He also said tickets should be available by the end of the week once pricing is determined.
"I think it definitely will showcase our facility because people get to see (af2) playing in there," said Lybeck, who estimated the facility should be able to seat 5,500 to 6,000 people for the contest. "It should be a lot of fun to do that event and we should learn a lot by doing it."
The main reason Nelson, who also is a member of the league's executive committee, wants to hold the event is because he's started over in his search for investors to bring a team to Yakima.

Im fired up about it. The more teams the better level of competition. I can't wait for this season to start so i can try out my super powers on the new additions.
Ya it will be a good jump in competition level and that is a good thing. A good possibility to bring out better athletes than we already have... But I like the merger and it just makes me hopeful of the future this league has. Good Work
